Foxes Fans Back Kelly's Young Guns

Leicester City supporters still seeking tickets for Saturday's Championship clash against Colchester United are being urged to arrive as early as possible at the Walkers Stadium to avoid unnecessary queues.

The Foxes are expecting their biggest attendance of the season so far, following their impressive performance at the Stadium of Light last Saturday and on the back of their Carling Cup success at Hereford in midweek.

Over 20,000 tickets have already been sold and City officials are keen for fans to avoid unnecessary queuing in what is expected to be the busiest Saturday for some time.

City boss Rob Kelly said: "We have a young squad and the backing from the supporters makes a massive difference.

"The average age of the team that we played on Tuesday night at Hereford was just 22 and I thought they all acquitted themselves very well. The fans were brilliant to a man as well and really helped the team when the game was poised at 1-1.

"Our supporters have been outstanding and more of the same on Saturday would be very much appreciated."

A City Spokesman added: "The demand for tickets this week has been higher than for a long time and there promises to be a great atmosphere inside the Stadium on Saturday.

"The ticket office will be fully staffed from 9.00am on the morning of the game and we are expecting it to be busy all the way up until kick-off.

"It is always especially busy in the hour leading up to a match and we are urging supporters still looking for tickets that they can avoid the queues by either visiting or contacting the ticket office anytime in the morning or by purchasing online at the e-tickets facility on the Club's website.

"On-line orders using the e-tickets facility will be accepted anytime up until 90 minutes before kick off and can then be collected upon arrival at the ticket trailer outside the main ticket office."

I hate this Spinning PR bolooooox.... we all know we're up sh1t creek and no-one is going to games.

Just stop pretending, I am not saying we say "its sh1t and doom and gloom" but why pretend otherwise?

Well as I said before there had to be a reason for giving out free tickets, it's not something the board were going to do out of the goodness of their hearts.....seems this PR stunt is the reason.

Giving away free tickets is a good idea, I fully endorse it.

But it they make a habit of it, people will just stop buying them and try to get their hands on free ones!

Yes it is a good idea, Once a season or so.

but naff "Look! everyone’s coming back to the walkers because we drew with another bottom half Championship side, and beat a mid table league two side, both away from home! Better get your ticket quick because now we're on the up there we will soon be back to sell outs every week!" PR Campaigns are just patronising. You've given away about 2,000 free tickets and because of this and a slight actuall increase in the gate we (apparently) have sold over 20,000 tickets, why do they have to dress it up and treat the fans like idiots.

You forgot to add, it's only good if you recieve one, and a shame if you've paid for the ticket only to find out they are giving them away!!!

How strange that this season over 20k means that there will be a mass-disaster in the ticket office, and yet in previous seasons this would have been a poor attendance.

What do you expect 10,000 free? - that disappointment says more about those wanting something for nothing than the club

That is probably the most idiotic thing I've read all week. And I've been reading mentalistsareus.com quite a lot recently.

I can fully understand people being annoyed at tickets being given out for free if they either didn't receive any despite many years of loyal support or they have already paid for tickets and they don't deserve the "fan's voice", "representative of the people" having a go at them.

It was the initial way you stated it, there has to be a limit to these things.

It seems fair to reward those who made the trip to Hereford, that is certainly a good thing.

And if a number are to be handed out, using the supporters organisations also seems a sensible approach & one we would encourge, not just to the FT, but also the offical supporters club, the ISA, DSA and FAR.

I knew this was going to happen! Bloody Singh nicks my avatar, sticks a turban on it and now people think I'm him!

I was just backing him up but in light of recent avatar theft incidents, I shall withdraw my support and insist that the club increases his season ticket fees! :P:thumbup:

Am I right in thinking that people got the free tickets because they went to Hereford? If so, that is quite rubbish, I mean that there's a good chance that the people who went were season ticket holders, so why would they want free tickets? They would get in anyway, so they would have to give them to mates etc, who possibly never go to games and may never go again. If it was members then fair enough, but season ticket holders should get a discount on nect seasons season ticket or somethin like that. It seems the most loyal supporters aren't getting rewarded!!

Shat ap!!!

My point was very tongue in cheek, you fool!!! I'm not the most dedicated supporter, and do not expect anything for free, but when you hear people getting multiple free tickets then I feel for those that are!!!
