Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Saturday was a real option for me. I know the defence looked alright but I've never seen six players put in performances quite as bad as the midfield and attack did on Saturday. Some of the Pleat games were pretty awful but I couldn't possibly remember a specific one. Couple of games under MON were dreadful too (the infamous Sheffield United game, Derby where they beat us with a Darryl Powell fluke was particularly frustrating). The worst games are the ones where you're playing such a limited team and they come out looking the better side. Colchester may not have forced any chances but they looked a bit lively coming forward down the right in the second half at times. Taylor specifically Bolton 0-5, Adams specifically Aston Villa 0-5 and Brighton 0-1, some of the Levein games as well obviously. I can't remember a game that went by quite so quickly as Saturday though. I got talking to my mate towards the end of half-time and suddenly the clock said 55 minutes, so little was happening I found myself having a conversation about whereabouts his new job is based. I know we are a reactionary bunch on here but for anyone who wasn't there, read everything about how bad we were and times it by ten. It was disgustingly bad.

I didn't go to the game but it sounded shi-te on the radio, the only plus is that we didn't lose!! I'm seriously considering not purchasing tickets for the CP and Southampton game!!!

Sadly almost all attacks start from defence and if we refuse to pass the ball from the back then we'll squander possession as we didon Saturday. I'm sure you watch the great teams - just notice how often they loft the ball out of defence. They don't they play it out along the floor most times and that is how we should be. Simple 10-15 yard passes shouldn't be beyond even out defenders but it is not just passing, it is passing and moving. And that is where our excellent attack-breakers fall down badly.
Master Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Wycombe in the cup was bad but I've actually lost count of the amount awful games I've seen now.
Lets Be having You Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 to many to remember, worst i have to say were whenMcClintok was boss there were some very very dire games home and away, after the days of bloomfield, are the good old days
Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 I don't even want to think about them because it makes me depressed. I just want to look forward.
Ric Flair Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 It was very similar to the Real Sociedad friendly performance this summer, infact freakishly similar. It was worse than the Burnley or Hull performance I think, just!

Louise Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 5-0 at home to Villa was probably the worst I've seen, for the simple fact that the players just did not care. 5 goals in 18 minutes, shocking. The only thing we had to cheer was when their 6th was ruled out for offside. Although for the sheer-boredom factor, I would have to mention that 1-0 defeat to Brighton under Adams the following season as 2nd worst.
The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Boxing Day under... MA? CL? Lost 1-0 to Rotherham. And it was f ucking cold. I left on 60 minutes or something. I'm not a real fan.
Janx Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 wouldnt it be quicker to list the positive ones?
Ultra Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 We had a couple of shockers in the late 80s at home to Bournemouth, two Boxing Days in a row. But they were at Filbo, where the ground was ALWAYS full and EVERYONE sang from the first minute to the last!

This is probably mine as well! One of the coldest games I've ever been to, terrible match, they were bottom of the leage too. I don't think the match on Saturday was anywhere near the worst I've seen, maybe not even the worst this season, I thought there were a couple of positives - especially Logan playing really well, did everything he needed to with confidence, was good coming off his line and looks to be a really decent shot stopper. I could see not a single positive to be taken from the Burnley and Hull games

Head Honcho Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 to many to remember, worst i have to say were whenMcClintok was boss there were some very very dire games home and away, after the days of bloomfield, are the good old days We lost 10 home games in 77 under McLintock. These included Liverpool, Everton, Forest, Villa and Cov and the goal difference for those 5 alone: Goals for 2 Goals against 16

Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 To league one football?? Great!!!!! Your eternal pessimism is worse than some of City's play right now.
Master Fox Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Your eternal pessimism is worse than some of City's play right now. The whole club is in absolute disarray at the moment. Unless there are some drastic changes made in all departments we’ll witness the worst period of clubs history unfold if the fans don’t act now. People say losing 0-5 at home in prem was bad, in league we’ll be losing to teams at home like Bournemouth Weymouth etc
TrickyTrev Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Plenty of games under Adams were just abysmal. Brighton and Rotherham stick in the mind. Saturday came close though.
Wils Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Either the 5-0 at home to Villa or that boxing day game against Rotherham, that was terrible.
