Scow Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 Taylor Makin / Dublin / Dabizas / Stewart Gillespie / Williams / Gudjonsson / Nalis Scowcroft / Connolly Subs: Pressman, Heath, Gemmill, Morris, Blake --------------------------------------------------------- Unsure about the midfield four, I think Williams may come in for Gemmill, which means pushing Nalis out to the left so we can bring Joey in to the centre in order to have a ball winner in there. Although I have a horrible feeling Gemmill will keep his place.
davieG Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 Taylor Makin /Keown / Dabizas / Stewart Gillespie /Gudjonsson/ Nalis/Tiatto Scowcroft /Dublin Subs: Pressman, Heath, Gemmill, Williams, Morris I'm convince Connolly will be out and I suspect Keown & Tiatto will be fit and back.
Scow Posted 9 December 2004 Author Posted 9 December 2004 I'm not sure Levein will risk Tiatto and Keown. We do have a busy schedule coming up, so he'll want to make sure they're spot on fitness wise. I think you're right about Connolly - But I don't think Dublin will play upfront, well I hope not anyway. I know Levein see's him as an attacker primarily, but I think Blake is ahead in the pecking order. Sad state of affairs really that those two are in contention for a striking place. I would prefer Morris myself, simply to provide some pace upfront to get in behind the defence.

The fun will really start in the new year, hopefully if CL can make some proper changes.
Ric Flair Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 We desperately need a new striker, it's embarassing. Taylor Makin Dublin Dabizas Stewart Gillespie Williams Gudjonsson Nalis Scowcroft Morris Subs: Heath, Blake, Dawson, Gemmill, Benjamin/Wright I could also see us playing 4-5-1 with Morris out on the left and three central midfielders. Williams could support Scowcorft as could Morris, that would be better in my opinion.
Scow Posted 9 December 2004 Author Posted 9 December 2004 That could be seen as negative by a large number of fans, although it does seem a good idea in principle. Might even bring out the best in Williams as well with the security of having 2 midfield players covering. But I suspect it will be a 4-4-2, with Blake and Scowcroft upfront.

Taylor Stearman Keown Dabizas Stewart Gillespie Williams Dawson Nalis Scowcroft Wright I'm begging you now Craig, get a striker in and quick, even i'm starting Scowcroft now the useless .... <_<

If we start off the way we did against Plymouth there will be trouble again as the fans were getting very agitated. Gemmill is useless and if he starts I struggle to see us playing fast attacking football as Gemmill seems to hinder this with his dithering in midfield. I can't stand the gypsy and if he continues to play i'll be joining him on the pitch for a word.

Anish Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 I don't think he'll change a winning team (bar injuries) - so that means: Taylor Makin Dabizas Dublin Stewart Nalis Joey Gemmill Gillespie Scowy Blake I'd prefer to see Morris up front, but I doubt it'll happen.
Cobbo Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 --------------Taylor Makin--Dublin--Dabizas--Stewart Gillespie--Joey--Nalis----Tiatto ------Scowcroft--Morris Subs: Keown, Dawson, Williams, Blake, Benjamin Seeing as Dublin and Dabizas both played well vs Leeds apparently, I doubt either will be dropped or moved from CB, hopefully Gemmill will be dropped totally, but probably not
Ric Flair Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 Williams has got to start, he changed the game against Plymouth and if it wasn't for him I doubt we would of won. He is our only player who has real quality in my opinion. There's others like Tiatto and Nalis who are great players but Williams is something else when he's playing well. We haven't seen the best of Williams yet due to him only playing one half under Levein and he was immense. I think he'll easily be our best player once he gets a few games under his belt in the new regime. Get the ****er in.

Would like to see Williams showing that much ability and work rate every game!

shen Posted 9 December 2004 Posted 9 December 2004 If Keown is fit, he will definitely play him! TrickyTrev Posted 10 December 2004 Posted 10 December 2004 Apparently Levein used to play with 1 up in Scotland and that being a big target man witht he wingers trying to get forward in support, I suspect he will try the same on Saturday because of Connolly's injury. ......................Taylor Makin.....Dublin.....Keown.........Stewart .........Williams...Joey.....Nalis ...Gillespie....................Morris ..................Scowcroft. Subs- Gemill, Dawon, Dabizas, Blake, Benjamin
