Sods Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I know we have had a lot of suggestions for building a atmosphere at the walkers especially in the kop. But i belive if most stood in the kop they would sing like away games. So i reckon there should be a section that just stands like the l1 but more people. But probably in the kop if people stood in front of them they would shout 'sidown'. Does anyone agree thet standing would help the singing it would definately be louder.
Bert Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Standing would be better, yes. But there are reasons such as health and safety reasons added to what happened at Hillsbrough, bigger clubs cannot take these risks anymore.
Daggers Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Standing on it's own didn't make people sing, crowd density and acoustics have a large bearing on perceived crowd noise...and if people were tempted to sing it was easy to move into a loud area on a terrace; this ability to move about is still restricted by the seating. No if everyone standing ripped out the seating to re-instate a terraced section, then we'd be talking some increased decibels

Simple....if you want to stand move over to L1. The stewards seem to tolerate it more over there.

The problem is that in the Kop folk buy season tickets and expect to sit for 90 minutes with an uninterrupted view throughout. And many home fans will only start singing if the team gives them something to sing about.
lildave3 Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I must say, the chanting is the thing i love most about games, thats why im preferring away games at the minute. Seriously considering moving to L1 next season....
lcfc_jme Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I enjoy the songs and chanting at the footy meself, and, atm, it doesn't happen very often 'cos we're sh!t and give the fans nothing to chant about. The Kop should be the best for it, but it's quite quiet atm (and understandably so). Never sat in L1, but I'll guess that the atmosphere there is quite good seeing as everybody is always standing and they're nearer the away fans.
john_lcfc Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I must say, the chanting is the thing i love most about games, thats why im preferring away games at the minute. Seriously considering moving to L1 next season.... why wait till next season- i advise you to get down the ticket office n move into there now
lcfc_jme Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 why wait till next season- i advise you to get down the ticket office n move into there now Is the atmosphere there really that good?? Are they welcoming to new additions being the aggressive people they are ??
SystonFox Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 F1 standing next game. please respond to the chants of "stand up if you love leicester" even if you think it means nothing anymore please stand in f1 and elsewhere in the kop.
Maybes Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Is the atmosphere there really that good?? Are they welcoming to new additions being the aggressive people they are ?? Im 1 row from the back in L1 and im not aggressive and I dont wear burberry or aquascutum
Daggers Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 I must say, the chanting is the thing i love most about games Forget L1, if it's chanting your're after then why not join the Hari Krishna's? I can fully understand why chanting is more pleasurable than watching.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Im 1 row from the back in L1 and im not aggressive and I dont wear burberry or aquascutum So if I came and stood (not sat ) there, I'd be in good company??
samingram_uk Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 Decent football would help a tad too I think. oh so true
Tubes Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 the kop can be brilliant when we get going its just weve got to keep it going
Sparky Posted 2 October 2006 Posted 2 October 2006 i ve sat in the kop since the ground opened but this season moved to L1. the atmosphere is no better there and 1 or 2 14/15 year old kids always get slung out for trying to be an ard bastard ! at least people seem to be a bit more keen to get songs going but it usually fails . most the young lads behind me struggle to know the lyrics to when your smiling!

Yes definetly, lets do it in F1!! Please!
Filbert_Ross Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 a few shots on goal might get the atmosphere going.
Sods Posted 3 October 2006 Author Posted 3 October 2006 Yes definetly, lets do it in F1!! Please! I think we should all stand in f1. If we get enough people we could do it.
Daggers Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 Yes definetly, lets do it in F1!! Please! You are sounding oddly like my wife young man. Stop it, it's disturbing!
