maccfox Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 IMO, what we should do now, is appoint an experienced 'Director of Football - with a good background in (higher level) football management - perhaps someone who's 'at the end' of their 'hands-on' management career. There's loads around. Someone like Keith Burkinshaw at Watford. It would leave Kelly to get on with the job he's (probably ?!) best at - coaching. Whats Dave Bassett doing now? I'll get me coat

There's plenty of decent experienced managers available. Surely, with the wages the Board are now saving by not having a Chief Scout (and we obviously don't need one of those in the immediate future), they could 'stump up' some wages for a Director of Football and / or some players in on loan ?

Head Honcho Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 I think i might apply for the chief scout job at Leicester, I mean that bloke was effing useless. Haven't they all been useless? Name me one time when we had a good one? A scout is supposed to pick out a few lower league players or maybe a couple of unknown foreigners for you to bring on and sell at a profit. We ain't done that since!!! Sorry my memory isn't that good We have made a profit on a few players in recent years but they were well established in the football(Connolly) or from the academy(Piper)
