Manwell Pablo Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Was the story that Trev hit Stan? Do we know any more behind this? Apparently Stan gave him some advice RE his first touch. Trev didn't like this.
Ric Flair Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Is it? sounds quite complicated to me. It's complicated to do, but it was simple to come up with it!
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Apparently Stan gave him some advice RE his first touch. Trev didn't like this. Trev is my hero.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Trev is my hero. Mine too. He first touch is still shit.
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 He's been knocking in one or two for The Posh...
Ric Flair Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Apparently Stan gave him some advice RE his first touch. Trev didn't like this. I think it was Collymore who had the last laugh though because Benjamin tried to punch him and missed and Colly pinged him one. Legend.
Ric Flair Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 He's been knocking in one or two for The Posh... Does Romeo and Cruz know?
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 I think it was Collymore who had the last laugh though because Benjamin tried to punch him and missed and Colly pinged him one. Legend. I'd love to see some footage of that.

Yes that is how I herd the story ended as well. Makes me wonder why it was the extremly talented footballer who didn't start the confilict who got the sack and not the donkey who did.
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Big wages + not scoring many goals + he'd been in the tabloids a bit = LCFC waiting for him to slip up so he could be gotten rid of.
Ric Flair Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Big wages + not scoring many goals + he'd been in the tabloids a bit = LCFC waiting for him to slip up so he could be gotten rid of. It was all Taylor's fault. Reckoned he was Collymore's biggest fan, etc. Yet didn't play him and when he did he'd then drop him the game after. I remember being at Stamford Bridge when he reluctantly bought Collymore on who then completely changed the game after Chelsea were throwing everything at us. Colly went up the other end when we broke clear and unleashed a sweet sliding volley to wrap the match up. You would have thought Taylor would have learnt something from that game, but instead he just ignored Collymore and stuck with Akinbiyi and Benjamin upfront. Also, the board had agreed to give Collymore a new contract that season. Taylor agreed if he regained his fitness from his broken leg, which he did. But then refused to let him have one when the time came. Probably because he'd paid all the remaining budget to Akinbiyi.
Master Fox Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Peter Taylor was a prat. That’s an understatement
Simon Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 That’s an understatement ...Of massive proportions
Shum Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 It's simple. Kelly should offer his resignation, we should then appoint Dave Penney as manager. Costing us nothing in compensation, perhaps just a little more in wages. Then we should use the projected money from the Villa game to bring back Collymore. If the club think they are in for a full house at the minute then they are mistaken, bring Collymore back against his old club and old manager and you've got 30,000+ in the ground and a guaranteed £300-400,000. That money could bring Collymore in for the season. I get a twitcher on just thinking about Collymore scoring goals for Leicester again. A front three of Collymore, Fryatt and Hume with the right sort of football being played would piss all over this league in my opinion. This dream is plausible if only we had a board with some bollocks and invention. Do it!!!!!!! Love it!!!

OK, Dave Penney, and then when he's hounded out in six months, who then? 3. £300,000 to £400,000? Have you noticed tickets are on sale for £10 to season ticket holders? What about Villa's share and the Football Leagues share? 4. Collymore will be in Tenerife for this game, supposedly getting fit. 5. This dream is plausible if only we had a board dropping acid all the time.

This dream is plausible if only we had a board dropping acid all the time. 1) Rumours that Kelly is willing to step down as manager as he's never really wanted the gig anyway. 2) In 6 months we'll see who's available, it would be highly impressive to know who's available right now in 6 months time. 3) We have 15,000 season ticket holders, if that. So if we multiply that figure by £10 it equals £150,000. Obviously there are some youngsters in that figure so call it £100,000. Then if we call it £15 for the rest of the tickets as that caters for adults, kids, OAPs and sweaty students. That would be 17,000 x £15 = £255,000. Totalling £355,000. Ok so we'd only see about £250,000 of that but i'm sure with 30,000+ fans in the ground there would be a fair few drinks, burgers, programmes, etc bought. Collymore wouldn't cost anymore than that for a season. 4) The Villa game is 2-3 weeks away, Collymore would get himself fit in that time if he knew he'd be making his debut against two of his old clubs and his old manager who he has nothing but respect for. 5) Surely they are on acid if they think us fans are taken in by the flannel they give us.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 They should soak our tickets in LCD. That may improve the atmosphere.

Kelly would still want a pay-off. 2. I was implying that Penney would be hounded out by all the short-termists in six months time, then we have to start all over again. 3. £355,000 less Vat = £302,000. I think our share would be in the region of £140,000. The concourse catering is franchised out. 4. A dissolute 35 year old match fit in 2-3 weeks time? Don't think so. 5. I'll have some of the tabs you've been dropping they are obviously top-notch.
Daggers Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 That kind of thing could make a man turn to dogging. I think they all have to wear leads now because of the dangerous dogging tabloid scare

We still get a fair bit of money from the concourse, even if we franchise it out we'd still get more money for the more products that were sold. And why on earth would we only get half of the gate money once VAT, etc was taken off. Villa would only get a percentage depending on the percentage of fans they bought. It's only in the FA Cup where the away team get a bigger slice of the money. The Football League don't take almost half of the gate money per match either!!!.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Lets not forger the 30 odd grand prize money for winning........ :pinch:
