BartonFox Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 Give him a call for pity's sake. Has the Penny dropped yet?
Thracian Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 Give him a call for pity's sake. Has the Penny dropped yet? I thought you wanted Martin Allen! Seriously though, while his departure from Doncaster left some question marks by all accounts, he would bring a bit of expectation and single-mindedness.
stez Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 what do we have to offer him? like fezzo says it will be narch, or maybe leeds we're skint and shit, who wants that?
Joe. Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 We have a great stadium, great reputation and Milan Manadaric apparently still wants us as i read in the NOTW last Sunday
lildave3 Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 We have a great stadium, great reputation and Milan Manadaric apparently still wants us as i read in the NOTW last Sunday I agree, we are still a bigger club than the likes of Norwich and our players and board need to realise this, we are a premiership club!
Floating Fox Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 I agree, we are still a bigger club than the likes of Norwich and our players and board need to realise this, we are a premiership club! I would say us and norwich are on level playing ground tbh they are a big club.
stez Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 We have a great stadium, great reputation and Milan Manadaric apparently still wants us as i read in the NOTW last Sunday he said (once again) he doesn't not want us I agree, we are still a bigger club than the likes of Norwich and our players and board need to realise this, we are a premiership club! i can't wait 'til the watford game the week after next!
stez Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 I would say us and norwich are on level playing ground tbh they are a big club. level, except they're not skint and can afford to service their new manager with some transfer funds
SystonFox Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 fook the manager situation. milan save the club! milan milan save the club.
Daggers Posted 3 October 2006 Posted 3 October 2006 Give him a call for pity's sake. Has the Penny dropped yet? They read the bit where The 42-year-old Penney added: "It's got to be the right club that's progressive and wants to go forward." and realised it was a non-starter
Ric Flair Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 It's simple. Kelly should offer his resignation, we should then appoint Dave Penney as manager. Costing us nothing in compensation, perhaps just a little more in wages. Then we should use the projected money from the Villa game to bring back Collymore. If the club think they are in for a full house at the minute then they are mistaken, bring Collymore back against his old club and old manager and you've got 30,000+ in the ground and a guaranteed £300-400,000. That money could bring Collymore in for the season. I get a twitcher on just thinking about Collymore scoring goals for Leicester again. A front three of Collymore, Fryatt and Hume with the right sort of football being played would piss all over this league in my opinion. This dream is plausible if only we had a board with some bollocks and invention. Do it!!!!!!!

I'm not quite as convinced as you that he could still do it - but I 100% behind the idea of giving him the chance. Like you, just the thought is quite exciting. And there is nothing the club needs more right now than someone with a bit of character and a bit of undiluted class. Whether RK could handle such a personality is another matterand I cannot see him quitting.

Natural ability though Thrac, aslong as he's still got the hunger then he'd succeed at this level without breaking sweat. He must have the hunger to even contemplate returning to football five years after retiring. He had/has his faults but ability wise he was the closest thing to the perfect footballer this country has ever seen in the modern era.
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 He'd turn up to training, take one look at Hammond's first touch... be introduced to Asaba and Farrelly and he'd soon be making his excuses. That kind of thing could make a man turn to dogging.
Dr The Singh Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Our board will take an entirety to make a decision, by theat time Penney will get bored and peed off and eff off somewhere else, leaving the board with there nuts in there hands!!! <_<

Playing in a reserve game with Trev Benjamin is going to leave you questioning your life and looking for a buzz.

Playing in a reserve game with Trev Benjamin is going to leave you questioning your life and looking for a buzz. We'd better get rid of O'Grady before he arrives then else he'll think Benjamin is still here. On the plus side at least they might have a punch-up on the pitch, I'd pay to watch that.
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Was the story that Trev hit Stan? Do we know any more behind this?
