lildave3 Posted 12 March 2007 Posted 12 March 2007 Well i have just completed the first superleague season. I, brilliantly, won it Ballack, Sheva, Torres, Drogba, Lampard and Terry the star performers. In other cups i got to the carling cup final, but lost to Milan. Got to Champs League semi-final but crashed out on away goals to Middlesbrough And i am just about to play the FA Cup final against Barcelona. Been a good season but i really wanted the quadrouple, and i had a great chance of it Lyon, Leverkusen and Fiorentina were the 3 that went down.
Simi Posted 12 March 2007 Posted 12 March 2007 Going through a patchy stage at the moment. Bought in Hartson to add experience. Billy Sharp just will not score at the moment and Fryatt is always picking up injuries. Managed to stay in the play-off positions though which is a bonus.

Brainy Posted 12 March 2007 Posted 12 March 2007 I strangely won my first game of the season. Heskey has returned I signed Kevin Doyle for free last summer and was voted player of the season by Leicester fans.
Suffolk_fox Posted 13 March 2007 Posted 13 March 2007 I am in my 2nd Season, leicester are now a Premiership team! I was dreading getting hammered each week, but I have done ok - I am 12th, and just lost a 2-0 lead against Man Utd to finish 2-2 - they took out my DM and I didn't have a suitable replacement on the bench... Billy Sharp and Humey up front, they seem to do well.
Brainy Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 Started with Aston Villa last night. I asked for more transfer funds from Mr. Lerner and I got . 38m! I bought four players - Robert Vittek (8m), Scott Parker (12m), Vaz Te (9m) and Perti Pasanen (3m). I may have paid to much but you know what i'm like with money Nobody this season has under-performed. Robert Vittek and Luke Moore have bagged 38 goals between them so far this season. Scott Parker and Steve Davis have been solid in the midfield whilst Petrov has done well on the right. Barry and Vaz te rotate to occupy the left. If Vaz Te is preferred, Barry will drop back to left back, meaning Wilfred Bouma will be left out. Cahill and Mellberg have been on form all season. Pasenen has been flying on the right. Sorensen has been vital for us - he hasn't let me down I lie in 3rd place, 3 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, away to Tottenham with most teams having to play only 8 more games this season. I've been occupying the top 3 nearly all season! Results of the season have to be; Villa 4-0 Arsenal, Villa 4-1 Chelsea, Watford 0-5 Villa, Villa 5-0 Sheff Utd and Villa 0-0 Man Utd.
Simi Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 Lost in the play-off semi to Norwhich. They are my bogey team, I can never seem to beat the bastar*s
JoeyB Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 I have to chuckle at 9 million for Vaz Te i agree You got ripped off big style for him! there are lots of better players out there for 9 million! RVP you could possibly get or even walcot on loan (just a few)
Geo V Posted 18 March 2007 Posted 18 March 2007 I cant be bothered to save the images and put them on that photobucket crap to get them here tonight but i`ll prove what I am about to say tomorrow. Leicester won the Premiership and Euro Cup in season 3. We then reatined our title and won the European cup in season 4. At the halfway point in season 5 we have won the super cup and the charity shield and have a stadium capacity of 50,000 and have £30m still to spend on transfers. The record deal is Vincent Kompany at £17m but I was dissapointed that Man Utd turned down my generous offer of £33m for Rooney ! Leicester are too good now so at the end of this season I plan on heading for Italy or Spain!
Brainy Posted 19 March 2007 Posted 19 March 2007 Vital game: Charlton v Liverpool West Ham v Man Utd Everton v Villa Arsenal ended my dream of a second place finish after beating me 4-1 at the Emirates. As you can see, i'd be absolutely gutted if I fail to finish in the top four. I've been there since mid-November!
Geo V Posted 20 March 2007 Posted 20 March 2007 The Leicester glory machine continued on since my last post of pics, winning the title and the Euro Cup in season 3. Bat that Milan I turned down the chance to manage England, France and Greece to concentrate on the Blue Army and we managed to win the title and the Champions League amongst other stuff. I turned down Milan and Valencia to stay for another season and it was well worth it as we cleaned up again. 3 titles on the trot and back to back champions leagues. I decided to resign to let someone else have a go and the Leicester board approached Mourinho who accepted Leicesters advances ! That left a vacancy at Chelski so I opted to try one season with the millionaires. Check out the deals I have done in pre-season but the season hasnt yet kicked-off. I did rape my former squad a bit but Mourinho accepted the bids !
JoeyB Posted 20 March 2007 Posted 20 March 2007 had a great start to the season Went 9 points clear. but a few crucial injuries to half my first team caused me to draw a few games and ive ended up second atm
Geo V Posted 20 March 2007 Posted 20 March 2007 had a great start to the season Went 9 points clear. but a few crucial injuries to half my first team caused me to draw a few games and ive ended up second atm Ive played too much of it in recent days and its the contributors to this thread thats to blame for reminding me about the game . I cant be bothered to play it with Cheslki but I`ll do my best to get them relegated!
Brainy Posted 20 March 2007 Posted 20 March 2007 I was wondering why it said you were Chelsea in the screenies' at the top!
Geo V Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 I was wondering why it said you were Chelsea in the screenies' at the top! If you look at my earlier posts of a week or two back the pics were with me at Leicester but I left City for Chelski this summer and went back to print the creens after I had already left them! Thats why Chelsea are highlighted in all pages because I am now, ashamedly manager of the English Russians!

Geo V Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Just to update you - I finished 5th. Micah Richards ^^ 51m lol Unlucky mate. That teaches you for managing Villa! I just hope that when you joined them that MON went back to Leicester! As for the Richards fee, I only paid it because I spotted a quirk within the game I think. When I took over at Chelski they gave me a budget. Now I know that early in July the board come back and tell you what your budget is for the season after they take in TV money and the rest into consideration so what I do is try to spend as much of the original budget knowing that there is a strong chance of them giving me more than original planned to spend when the new budgets are announced! Its all as clear as mud! BTW I did sell a player worth £11m for £40m!! Now thats skills!
Brainy Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 Well to be fair, i've enjoyed managing Villa I have a chance of doing the quadruple Im in: The Uefa Cup knockout stages FA Cup 5th round League Cup Final and 5th in the Premiership, about 11 points from the top with a game in hand If have to beat Man Utd though in the Cup Final. They can't be forgiven for scoring a 94th minute 2 months ago. 'Twas at Old Trafford. I was 2-0 down with 37mins gone. Straight from the restart Benjamin Lauth rifled in a 30 yard screamer, and Scott Parker scored the second before half-time. Robert Vittek then scored in the 55th minute to give me a 2-3 lead. All was looking good until the 86th minute when Louis Saha scored a tap-in to level to scores at 3-3. 4 minutes were added on. In the 94:35 min Ryan Giggs scores a Van Basten type goal I've beaten Chelsea (2-0 and 4-1) and Arsenal (1-0 and 4-0) at Villa Park, and beaten Liverpool 4-2 at Anfield since I took over. So far.. <_<

So far.. <_< Thats some tasty results. I have done well against Chelski over the last two seasons for some reason but Man Utd and Arsenal are more difficult to beat in the first couple of seasons on there own patch. Cheslki were my fav team to play as we would batter them (see below) and the funniest win was against Covscum, particularly beacuse Dennis Wise was manager and that I had my back-up team on the pitch to beat them! BTW thats quite a good tip. Have afirst 16, and then a back-up team that you bring out for the early stages of the cup competitions and Euro/Champs League games where you have already qualified. Whenever I have played the first team in cup matches two things seem to happen. Firstly we lose and secondly we get two injuries minimum! It also is good for playing back-up players, keeping them happy! I cant be bothered to play it with Chelski as I am gambling on the poker tables instead at the moment but I think we still have about £50m to spend which will be fun. I may buy COG for £40m for a laugh or raid some D2 club and pay £30m for a player and then release the player. It may be fun seeing a D2 side spend there new found wealth
Brainy Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 lol Do you usually beat teams 8-0? This is beyond a joke now. I had a home game vs Reading scheduled for some time in late August/early September. It's had to be rescheduled now about 8 times due to ; League Cup games ; FA Cup games ; UEFA Cup Games It's now been arranged for the 2nd April Now im in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup after drawing at Rosenborg 3-3 and then winning at Villa park 2-1. Man City have handed me a double-blow, beating me 1-0 in the League at Villa park (first time i've lost at home since Mid-August) and then knocking me out of the FA Cup a week later!

We were a free scoring side but I picked the formation 442 attacking and then pushed one of the central mids into an attacking mid possie to have a 4-3-1-2 formation. I then just go to tactics and play short passing and the next three options I move the cursor to the right. I cant remember them off the top of my head but I think its fast passing, attack flanks and close down quickly but that formation and style works well in England for me. BTW, the writers must be Man City supporters because they always do well and are one of my boey teams regardless of who I manage!
Brainy Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 I agree with the Man City bit. I managed them not long ago and they were ....! They couldn't score, and could hardly attack. Now Saamras has beaten me about 5 times with 20 yard headers. This was my team last year... Thomas Sorensen Petri Pasanen Gareth Barry/WilfredBouma Olof Mellberg Gary Cahill Stilian Petrov Gareth Barry/Ricardo Vaz Te Scott Parker Steven Davis Robert Vittek Luke Moore Turned out to be very successful. I targeted 3 places for improvement during the summer. This is my best 11 now... Thomas Sorensen Petri Pasanen Fabio Aurelio Kevin Hofland Gary Cahill Stilian Petrov Gareth Barry Scott Parker Kevin Nolan Benjamin Lauth Robert Vittek Turning out to be very successful again, although I get the feeling I haven't had many things go my way this season. The only thing that has was Robert Vittek only getting a yellow card when elbowing a Chelsea player in the face. When i'm losing or desperate to push on for a winner, I usually go 4-3-3, or 4-2-4 I usually take Petrov off and put on a striker for the 4-3-3 And usually I take off Nolan and Petrov and replace them with two strikers. For the team instructions, ; I usually push up the attack bar ; Quick tempo ; Push up the defensive line ; Close down quickly ; Hard tackling ; Lower the time-wasting bar And finally I tell them to Counter attack, mark the opposition right and use a playmaker. Its League Cup final day Edit - I sold Steve Davis to Liverpool (8m) plus Fabio Aurelio.
potter3 Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 I'm about to face my biggest task with Juventus in the first season, Inter Milan in the Italian Cup Semi-Final, I've already knocked out at least two Serie-A teams (Remember I am in Serie B)
