Simi Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Well last night i decided to start creating a new database, complete with the Leicester squad from 2000. I was bored you see, could be quite good when i've finished though. This is a very good idea. Like it mate. Hows it going ?
lildave3 Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 This is a very good idea. Like it mate. Hows it going ? Only done about 8 people so far Not sure what league to put them in when i've done though, don't know whether to go straight into the premiership or work my way up to it.

Start in The Championship. I think that would be better personally. What's your starting 11 ? Or is it not finished yet.

I'd imagine it would be the cup final team: ----------------Flowers------------------ ----Sinclair----Elliott----Taggart------- Savage-------------------------Guppy-- ---------Lennon---Izzet---Oakes------- -----------Cottee--------Heskey--------

Well it was realality I know but...
lildave3 Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 The stuff dreams are made of. Well it was realality I know but... True. I warn you now though, a few players may be overrated, Heskey and Lennon in particular.
Brainy Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 Leicester: Im 5th with six games to go, 11 points clear of 7th and about 6 of 2nd. All teams below 6th have a goal difference of 0 or below
Simi Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 True. I warn you now though, a few players may be overrated, Heskey and Lennon in particular. . Often the case. Players not in there 'Hay-Day'
Brainy Posted 1 April 2007 Posted 1 April 2007 In the play offs - just drew with Ipswich 2-2 at the Walkers in the first leg. 89mins - all looking great. 2-1 up. 89mins - 2-2, Alan Lee. 91mins - Tiatto sent off. Twasn't a Red Card (apparently) I complain - get a touchline ban (I now miss the 2nd leg away to Ipswich) I fine Tiatto, and all the players protest thinking it is unfair. And Fryatt is injured for the season, as is Hume, leaving me with Sinclair, Elvis and emergency loanee Danny Graham. Great.

You state yourself that it apparently wasn't a red card, yet go on to fine Tiatto for it. It's no wonder the players protested. Anyway, in my game I started the season well and were sitting pretty in the top 6 until I went on a run of about 3 wins between October and January. Sitting in 18th place as the transfer window opens. Signed Billy Sharp, Jason Koumas and Tom Soares and they all have awesome second halfs of the season and I pipped Derby to the 6th Play-off spot on the last day (they drew, I won 3-0, HA). Dominated Southend in the play-off semi because Freddy Eastwood was injured and then beat Stoke 1-0 in the final after extra time. Ashley Chambers scored to make it 2-0 in the final but it was disallowed for offside, dickheads.
potter3 Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 Can you make emergency loans on this? Both my keepers have long term injuries, and it's the 10th of Spetmember <_< An all my youth team keepers are crap. I'm having to play Drogba in goal agaisnt West Ham Just beat West Ham, clear favourite with Didier Drogba in goal for over 50 minutes. And they were all over me so he must have made a few saves.

No you can't, you'll just have to sign a keeper on a free
potter3 Posted 3 April 2007 Posted 3 April 2007 No you can't, you'll just have to sign a keeper on a free Looking at the available keepers, I'd rather play Drogba thanks.
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 BOLLOCKS. I've just taken Northwich Victoria to League One and my star youngster's been snatched up by Everton. I turned down the seven figure number but my Chairman overrode the decision and took the dollar dollar bill! Any idea if there's a way round such heinous back-room treachery?

I turned down the seven figure number but my Chairman overrode the decision and took the dollar dollar bill! Any idea if there's a way round such heinous back-room treachery? No, the only way is to try and convince him to stay by oferring him a new contract, asking for ideas on staff/new signing etc.
Finnegan Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 No, the only way is to try and convince him to stay by oferring him a new contract, asking for ideas on staff/new signing etc. Yeah, that'll work. "Hmmm, League One or UEFA Cup...?" Sack the board!
Geo V Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 I think you get less interst in your players if you set there value at £50m on something. Maybe that may scare away the big boys from bidding?
Brainy Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 But in this case the board will accept any bid.. and nobody would bid 50m Chelsea.
The People's Hero Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Kenneth Stenild from Aab for about 80k. Best keeper on the game, Chelsea offered £8 million for him 2 seasons after I signed him for 80k Agreed. He is amazing for me. His stats shoot up. I've got 5 or 6 young amazing keepers though. I collect them.
lildave3 Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Yeah, that'll work. "Hmmm, League One or UEFA Cup...?"Sack the board! You never know, if his loyalty stat is really high then maybe he'd stay
Geo V Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 But in this case the board will accept any bid.. and nobody would bid 50mChelsea. They only accept any bid because the player is wanted and you are a small club. What I am saying is before anyone gets the chance to show an interest place all the players you dont want to sell at £50m. If someone is interested in a player with that value they wont bid any less than about £20m or first up ask you who much you want by way on an enquiry.
Brainy Posted 5 April 2007 Posted 5 April 2007 Example - Scott Sinclair, been on loan with me at Leicester for the past two seasons. Scored 47 goals and found that he had no club. Newcastle, Derby (prem club) both offered him contracts but chose me over them. Of course your situation is different.
