potter3 Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 I'm about to face my biggest task with Juventus in the first season, Inter Milan in the Italian Cup Semi-Final, I've already knocked out at least two Serie-A teams (Remember I am in Serie B) Well they absolutely raped me in the first leg, 6-2, Buffon had a shocker, apparently due to Valencia unsettling him with transer talk. The Serie B will be the only competition I win this year
Flexx Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 apexgeo blatantly cheated. I was managing Leicester 2nd season in the championship, but then decided to resign. Not going anywhere really so i thought i would start a new challenge. No one accepts you though if you start the game on automatic, so now im managing Rochdale in the conference. transformed there season though - they were just off relegation when i took over now there just off play offs with 5 games to go. I have a 4 year plan to get into the Premiership. <_<
Suffolk_fox Posted 21 March 2007 Posted 21 March 2007 OK - how did you get this screen? I would love to see how my team has fared, but I can't seem to find this page in any of the options..... I am running FM07 with the latest patch. Cheers!

I have a 4 year plan to get into the Premiership. <_< mate, I think knowledge is the bomb on this game and there is no need to cheat. If you cheat its no point in playing it in the first place! There is a trend of the players that I buy though when I take over at Leicester and some of them who are dirt cheap like Qvist, Boskhallo, Polak, Vilakazi, Halmosi all cost less than the fee I usually get for someone like a Maybury or Tiatto. If you manage to sell loads of the squad and have £3-4m to spend, get the USA players ADu and in particular Eddie Johnson who are great on this game. Also that 4-1-3-2 system is a winner and there are plenty of tips that I can give if required to do well. A few I have mentioned are... - Load up the game on big database and start in June and not later. It gives you more time to do deals and get the free transfers. - As soon as you load up click on England flag and get into England squad page. On left you have staff. Go in theer and hire the World Class staff who are unattached like Ray Clemence, Ray Wilkins and that Welsh dude assistant manager whose name escapes me. - Put everyone up for sale bar Kisnorbo and Hume and make sure you highlight "not needed by club" as that guarantees quicker bids. If you get one particular player who attracts 4 or 5 clubs, refuse all offers and go back in and set your asking price higher. In the past Ive had £1m+ for the likes of Tiatto but it does change everytime I load up and start the game again. - Cancel all pre-arranged pre-season friendlies. Then pick only 4 games against real crap non league sides at the Walkers, a week apart from the opening day of the season. Thay`ll be match-fit and all in superb morale for the start of the season - Go to "Major Clubs" then Africa and have a look at the players at some of he big African clubs who are heavily rated and ready for England on the cheap. Its cliched but usually quite acurate, African players do well in England! - Check out players from Scotland like Naismith and Cameron who are available for under £75 each. Also the players like Qvist that I mentioned above. Try for Eastwood who I have bought for fees varying from £350k to £1m at the start. He upsets the fans by saying its a stepping stone but he wins them over. Dont forget to play the system I mentioned too! That will guarantee you all promotion in season one!
Flexx Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Still it could be possible you work at sigames or sports interactive I fancy starting a new game with Leicester now, cheers for the tips
escape2victory Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 in my 4th season wiv Leicester. Now an established prem team pushing for the top 6. Ashley Chambers becomes amazing !! just loan him out for the first few seasons to improve his stats. for my team he plays on the right of a front three alongside David Nugent and Andy van der Mayde. Play a tight midfield 3. These being Jarosik, Nakamura and Lee Cattermole being the anchor man !! Also check out Steve Nixon a defensive midfielder from Spurs and Victor Moses a striker from Palace. Both turn out quality !!! A couple of good loan signings in that difficult first season wiv Leicester are Chris James from Fulham and Neil Killkenny from B'ham
Geo V Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Still it could be possible you work at sigames or sports interactive I fancy starting a new game with Leicester now, cheers for the tips Good Luck. I still cant find the energy to play on with Chelski .
Brainy Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Oh, my season turned upside down in an hour yesterday. Lost the league cup final 1-2 after completely dominating. Get knocked out of the UEFA Cup last 16, and finish 6th in the Premiership.
Flexx Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 Good Luck. I still cant find the energy to play on with Chelski . How do you get the African players? Im still with Rochdale and about 30 quality African youngsters had all agreed to join (all free transfers with 10% of next fee) all on about £50 a week, but they all got turned down work permits.
potter3 Posted 22 March 2007 Posted 22 March 2007 - Check out players from Scotland like Naismith and Cameron who are available for under £75 each. That cheap eh?
Geo V Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 How do you get the African players? Im still with Rochdale and about 30 quality African youngsters had all agreed to join (all free transfers with 10% of next fee) all on about £50 a week, but they all got turned down work permits. Unfortunately mate the players have got to be of International class. They are still cheap if you get them from "poor" clubs like Hearts of Oak and Orlando Pirates. Dont be so focused on brilliant ratings either apart from pace being 14 minimum. Ive always found the African players to improve much quicker. I think I mentioned him but Valikazi or Vilakazi, an AM who costs between £100-400k depending on how lucky you are when loading the game up (it all changes for some reason, maybe a good thing). He always becomes quality and actually has been Player of the year a couple of times for me. BTW another way of knowing whether players need work permits is going into the palyers details and if they have a dual nationality of a EU nation you can get them in no worries. Thats the best way in getting players from Brazil as there are plenty who have dual nationalities at the real pants Brazilian clubs and you can get players for £10-100k and they beceome good.
Geo V Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 That cheap eh? as good as! One thing with this game and especially on players from Scotland is this.... If a club has say 10 clubs interested in one particular player, you may bid and they may stall on your offer or turn it down, citing the reason being that there are loads of interested clubs. If this happens, just go back and make an offer but change the detail from "transfer" to "Enquiry". Ive lost count of the amounts of time a club turned down a big offer due to all these other clubs being interested and after I enquired about a player they would accept much less??! Another important thing right at the start of the season is to build bridges with other managers. If a club has a player that you want, firstly go to the club and click "manager interaction" and tell the manager that you are great friends with him. He`ll respond, respond again and before you know it you are friends. If you then bid for a player the manager is more liable to accept an offer and cite the reason being "because of your friendship" and once again the club turns down bigger offers from managers that he maybe isnt so friendly with. The reason why I say do this at the start is because I wouldnt start praising managers during the season unless you have a big reputation because the players get arsey about it! We`ll all be world-beaters soon PMSL
SystonFox Posted 23 March 2007 Posted 23 March 2007 on my xbox 360 game as leicester, champions 1st season of the fizzy and then in pre season barcelona became my parent club. i beat derby 2-0 1st game and chelsea 2-1 away 2nd game. but lost to pompey 0-1 at home with david dunn missing a bastard pen!!

Lost 7-0 to Ipswich. Qvist turned down the move, Boskhallo doesn't exist, Polak i've signed (is he the central defender?), Vilakazi moved to Fulham (I was too late), Halmosi plays for Plymouth on loan. Signed Eddie Johnson but Adu rejected. Ray Clemence and Ray Wilkins rejected, but welsh guy accepted. Naismith moved to Blackburn (too late again, but offered to sign on loan), who's cameron (colin?), Eastwood is too expensive. So all in all your tips were well not the best
Brainy Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 35 games into the season and I still haven't played Liverpool
