potter3 Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 I've started a new game with the new patch with Juventus. First three matches have gone well, all in the Italian Cup: 6-0, 2-1 and 4-0. I've signed Didier Digard, Guisseppe(sp?) Rossi and Hugo Viana on loan. Del Piero is immmense, scored all 4 goals in the Four Nil win
Suffolk_fox Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Gah! I keep getting to the top of the Championship, only to win the sodding Manager Of The Month, then I lose a few games and slip to 7th!!! Is it good to have my asst manager do the team talks? Why do I beat Teams in the top 5, but get kicked 2-0 by teams around 21st? Including bloody Brum who were on a run (no exaggeration here) of 20 (yes TWENTY) games without a win!!! They play me at Walkers, and beat us 2-0!
Flynny Posted 4 March 2007 Posted 4 March 2007 Only advice I can think of is when you search for players customize the search so that it removes unrealistic targets. Yep. Then organise by price. The best players are the most costly usually. If you filter out the unrealistic players, then filter out all below the age of 30, then arrange by price, you should find decent players but that are cheao because they're old. With a lower league game though I like to pluck a youngster out of nowhere and make a few thousand pounds when he develops thanks to first team football. Strikers are the best for appriciating in value so long as your team is scoring and winning.
Brainy Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 Thats why I don't like being teams from the Conference. No money - nobody wants to join.
imagine that Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 Believe me, doesn't help. My transfer budget is £0. The free transfers are either too good and too bad. Just struggling to pick up players. I had the same problem and soon gave up after my 1st game in charge.
lildave3 Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 I had the same problem and soon gave up after my 1st game in charge. Well i made the decision to go on holiday for the 1st season and then return and hope it's easier to bring in players. I was wrong. This time i've brought in a few decent players and 1 quality young belgian lad, god knows why he wanted to join me

Oh yeh, get your scouts searchign england aswell, mine found 3 or 4 that could make the step up from non league.
Brainy Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 The idea is to look at the score.. and in particular.. one goalscorer.
lildave3 Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 The idea is to look at the score.. and in particular.. one goalscorer. To be honest, i've always found Willo Flood to be amongst the goals...
fox123 Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 To be honest, i've always found Willo Flood to be amongst the goals... whos your prem bogey team? Mines usually charlton or west ham!
lildave3 Posted 5 March 2007 Posted 5 March 2007 whos your prem bogey team? Mines usually charlton or west ham! West Ham or Everton, hardly ever beat them <_< I even have a bogey player: Neil Mellor. He always scores against me whenever i play him, and it's usually a last minute winner or a dodgy penalty.
Suffolk_fox Posted 6 March 2007 Posted 6 March 2007 What is the consensus on Team Talks? Do you let your Asst Manager take them? Or do you prefer to be the one doing the talking? I think the Asst Manager does a better job overall, but sometimes at half time I would love to give them the hairdryer treatment myself. I am now back in 1st place with 13 games to go. Beat Canvey island 8-0 in the cup, with HUUUME scoring 6 of them. I love it that the crowd seem to shout HUUUUUUUUUME on FM07 too.... Gah, and I will lose Weso and Kisnorbo at the end of this season. On Frees! They didn't want to discuss contracts with me.....

Manager to do them, but then I aparently turned the game on its head with my half time one, and everyone loved it, and me so I carried on giving them I was tricked.
lildave3 Posted 6 March 2007 Posted 6 March 2007 I let my assistant do 'em, much quicker and easier. And they do a good job.
Brainy Posted 6 March 2007 Posted 6 March 2007 I was on holiday a lot last season which meant Mike Stowell was maknig my team talks. By the end of the season I had nearly every player coming to be concerned with what he has been doing. I always wish them luck before the game.
Flexx Posted 6 March 2007 Posted 6 March 2007 I usually always say 'You can win this' even when there is no chance of it happening
Strokes Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 I usually always say 'You can win this' even when there is no chance of it happening
Suffolk_fox Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 Just glad there isn't a 'Right you lot, we will be redoubling our efforts on the training pitch....'
Brainy Posted 7 March 2007 Posted 7 March 2007 For some reason, Hume is better on the second season than the first.
Brainy Posted 8 March 2007 Posted 8 March 2007 I'm away to Spurs Am I in the Premiership?!??!??! Nope, FA Cup quarter final.
lildave3 Posted 8 March 2007 Posted 8 March 2007 Well i've got that Superleague working, and i have started a game in it with Chelsea. Just about to sign Torres for a measly £45 million.
JoeyB Posted 8 March 2007 Posted 8 March 2007 cant here any Leicester songs on that sound pack hopefully be on the next update
Brainy Posted 8 March 2007 Posted 8 March 2007 5 days until the season kicks off and im very far behind in the transfer market..
Brainy Posted 8 March 2007 Posted 8 March 2007 Been a very disappointing summer for me. [ I'm Leicester on my THIRD season ] I planned to sign seven players in the summer with a transfer budget of 3m. Of course with some going out, the number will be increasing. I sold wantaway striker Matty Fryatt to relegated Blackburn (4m). Stephen Hughes, Momo Sylla, Darren Kenton and Rab Douglas are just a few of the names I have released in the summer. I planned to sell Iain Hume (who also wants to leave) but nobody came in with a bid. Marco Bertolina attracted the attention of some Premiership clubs but wants to stay with me. Coming in was Stephen Carr (free), Jordan Stewart (2m), Rob Hulse (14k) and Giorgios Efrem (free). James Beattie had agreed terms with me but failed his medical (I later found out he was out for 7 months). Rangers also accepted a 2.3m bid for striker Billy Sharp but he didn't want to join There are 3 players hopefully arriving in the next couple of days. However it will be too late for the start of the new season, which kicks off in 1 minute. A trip to Sheff Utd. Yummy
