Where shall we go on holiday in March?

Recommended Posts

My wife has been trawling through T'interweb for info, but I said that the punters on FT would be a much better help....

We were looking at Hurghada in Egypt, but the prices are going up. Turkey might be an option, but we dunno.

Looking for all inclusive holiday in a nice warm place where we can just chill out on the beach. Pref Med as the package deals are cheap enough. Around 300 quid per person.

Any ideas?

Florida's a bit unoriginal - it'll be bloody busy and full of old people (that's where all the old folks go in the US - bit like Bournemouth and Eastbourne in England) :P

Egypt would be different. If that's your cup of tea, go for it. You don't always have to follow the crowds.

Turkey is quite reliable at that time of year, too. Again, it might be busy, the krauts love to go Turkey on their hols too. So beware of towel moving krauts on the beaches.

Turkey sounds cool enough. Our budget as mentioned before is about 300 quid per person. A couple of weeks ago, the Egypt ones were within the price bracket but have moved up a bit.

Any more ideas? What is Cyprus like in March?

Cyprus is a lovely place. Been once... for some reason I think I've been there twice, but I can't confirm it at this time... lol

(Must be good if I think I've been twice as many times as I really have! haha)

I went at christmas and the temperature was fantastic - low-mid 20s, great for the beach. I imagine in March its a fair bit warmer, not everyone considers low-20s to be great beach weather. ;)

I liked Cyprus. Lovely place. Lovely people. Great climate overall.

As an oldie designate I've just spent a few days in Bournemouth and it is overflowing with young people, day and night. I actually felt somewhat out of place. :o

Turkey looks fab. Flights are #140 each (I can't get the pound sign up on our 'puter!!) and the most expensive all inclusive hotel is about #150 in a resort called Side.

Sounds like the deal for us....

See, it took my missus all night to find nowt, but with the help of FTers, I found the ideal place in minutes.

Thanks guys! (Esp Luckydo. Will buy you a donkey or something!)

Pretty sure I've been Side or somewhere near it.

Thanks.

I eagerly anticipate you bringing me some ass.

Since you're in Suffolk, surely you should be looking at Aldeburgh, Thorpeness or Lowestoft. Maybe push the boat out and a week in Clacton? Perhaps a bit cooler than Egypt but much more environmentally sound.

Bradwell on Sea has deightfully warm waters, from the power station outlet.

Yes, marvel at the one eyed locals; gasp at the interbred couples in the local pub and laugh at the collection of three legged dogs.

Bradwell on Sea has something to offer everyone!

My sister went to Turkey and reckoned it was the best holiday she's ever had.

For me I really loved Sorrento and Capri.

your not wrong there, the women are cracking and definately 'safe'. as for bournemouth, if i remember correctly (which i often don't) it was hailed as the party capital in 2000, imagine the grannies with icecreams by day, glow sticks and extacy by night

i'm thinking of hong kong next summer, anyone been before?
