What's your current phone and do you like it?

Might give us an indication of what style you're in to. Ooo er ;)

Something modern and sophisticated with all the technology because my current phone is from 1998.

Probably the best for camera/video is

K800Front.jpg

The Sony Ericsson K800i 3.2 megapixel camera phone is here! Boasting a Cyber-shotâ„¢ digital camera, the Sony Ericsson K800i is a small and sophisticated feature-packed 3G phone.

3.2 Megapixel Camera

Video Calling

Xenon flash

Memory stick Micro

The Sony Ericsson K800i features BestPic™ technology which lets you capture several images in quick succession with one press of the camera key. A camera stabilizer function compensates any small movement of your hand when you’re taking a picture and shooting video. With the Sony Ericsson K800i any photo can be shared straight away using Bluetooth™ or multimedia messaging.

The Sony Ericsson K800i also has a fully fledged digital music player, so you can hear your favourite music tracks wherever you go; and even features built in 3G technology which takes mobile web browsing, multimedia downloading and video calling to new levels.

But it gets a fairly mixed review, but the bad ones are mainly from people who don't like the Sony Ericsson stlye so not saying it's a bad phone. A couple of my friends have it and they actually love it

I wouldn't get that phone, i have it and whilst the camera is good the software on it keeps crashing, it constantly rings the wrong person and turns off with no warning. I have only had it two months and have already switched back too my previous model. <_<

Maybe i got a bad one, but seriously its a pain in the arse.

I think to some degree people will encounter faults with any new phone. I get insurance so if it breaks then I'll send it back.

What's it like size wise?

Master Fox... find a phone you like where people you know have it and you KNOW the software is sound.

Number one problem with phones as they get more sophisticated or at least more ambitious is that the software crashes or behaves eratically. Mine crashes, turns itself off, refuses to open text messages etc. Right pain.

I have an N90 and I do not recognise any of this. I am trying to get a Blackberry 8700. ;)

:yesyes: Software is the biggest problem in phones. The more things it tries to do, the more things it can do horribly wrong. A friend of mine has a relatively simple Motorola phone, it has a camera and what have you, but it's not overly complex. The software, though, crashes all the time. It turns itself off for fun. It refuses to dial numbers, it refuses to load the menu. Sometimes you can't even turn the phone off because the software's having none of it!

Heap o'shit. :P

Yeah but when you ask most people if their phone is any good more or less 100% of the time they say it's rubbish.

The w800i. w800i.jpg

Used to be the case with the intial production run, but those unsold were recalled and the latter models were released with an improved batch of software.

My first w800i was sent back...the only problem I have with the replacement is the music uploading software - takes forever.

Oh, and the USB into the phone lead no longer sits in the phone properly - needs replacing.

The Sony Ericsson K800i ...

You can get the Sony Ericsson K800i with quite a lot of cashback here.

I like Sony Ericsson phones but have purposefully avoided buying this one as I believe it to be a 3G phone.

3G phones just heat up too much!

I have a K608i and that fries my brain in just a minute or two. Don't want a 3G phone, so I got myself a k750i.

It came with quite a bit of cashback last July, so I am not complaining. You can get a cheap k750i phone here :P

I have had the Sony K800i since August and have had no software problems whatsoever it is fantastic! It looks lovely and works brilliantly. The camera is awesome and pictures are great but Video is a bit crappy.

If i was you i'd stay away from the windows based phones, you think they are great but to be honest you will probably find you don't use all the features and most of them look crappy and very XP like. I've had the old E200 and the SPV M500 and neither have a liked very much....and im geeky!
