Leicfox Posted 16 February 2007 Posted 16 February 2007 Sheffield United, Birmingham City, Leicester City and Norwich City are all believed to be keen on want-away Coventry ace Michael Doyle. The Irish international has made up his mind to leave the Ricoh Arena in the summer after being disillusioned with the club in the aftermath of the training ground bust-up with skipper Robert Page. The 25-year-old has made his peace with Page, who, he revealed, has apologised, but feels a sense of injustice about Coventry's handling of the situation - and could now go for a fee of £500,000 in the summer. "They didn't back me and it is very hard to accept that," said Doyle, who signed a new contact extension last year. "I didn't want anyone sacked, I didn't want the police involved or anything like that but at the same time I don't think it's right that it just gets brushed under the carpet or for the club to hope that everyone forgets about it http://www.clubcall.com/index.jsp?storyID=309579
kamikazi_watermelon Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 what about Ben Foster? if he hasnt been mentioned already
Bluefoxtim Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 what about Ben Foster? if he hasnt been mentioned already Never in a million years In the England squad and a VERY promising goalkeeper. Why would Man Utd let him go? Unless you mean on loan, but then that would be in the wrong thread wouldn't it? WOULDN'T it?!
dandannieldanok Posted 17 February 2007 Posted 17 February 2007 Adam Federici - performed brilliantly again Man Utd, one for next season perhaps?
Who ate all the pies? Posted 23 February 2007 Posted 23 February 2007 Pekka Lagerblom - Stupid name great player. He's 24 plays for 1fc Koln and is a great midfielder breaks up the play superbly and scores the odd wonder goal! Would cost a bit but worth signing him before any bigger clubs go for him. Steven Caldwell - Burnley just signed him but he would be a great signing. There are others but these guys would really make a difference.
Mort Posted 23 February 2007 Posted 23 February 2007 i think we should get Arturo Lupoli! We should... but he'll either be going to Derby (if they go up) or perhaps Napoli at the end of the season, I doubt he'll be avalible for another spell on loan at this level... personally I'd have loved to have had a chance at getting Larson when Brum did, he would he have been amazing IMHO... wont ever happen now he's signed for Brum though Jonas Elmer and Benoît Assou-Ekotto may both be avalible on loan next season though, however their do we need a leftback or leftwinger as a matter of urgency... with no left back in the squad next season Assou-Ekotto could be immense on loan if we could get him... but even with no left back the middle of the park is the main area which needs bolstering as we've said so many times already.
Nath. Posted 23 February 2007 Posted 23 February 2007 Buy forest, Stick Nathan Tyson int he City squad, then sell forest again when they get promoted.. profit and a great up and coming player
Joe. Posted 23 February 2007 Posted 23 February 2007 Buy forest, Stick Nathan Tyson int he City squad, then sell forest again when they get propmoted.. profit and a great up and coming player He's looked decent whenever I've seen him. Certainly wouldn't say no if the chance arose.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 24 February 2007 Author Posted 24 February 2007 He's looked decent whenever I've seen him. Certainly wouldn't say no if the chance arose. But he is Forest scum
Guest seanfox778 Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 if we are after an experienced wide man they should try and sign laurent robert from levante scores some spectacular goals and is a decent crosser, just needs to get his attitude sorted.
brookfox Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 With Voronin signing for Liverpool next season, wonder if Fowler will get a new contract? Not necessarily advocating his signing, but he's the kind of player Pompey used to sign under MM.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 26 February 2007 Author Posted 26 February 2007 Good call..... cant see Crouch stayin there either he'll be off, Liver will bring in some other striker poss Raul and we'll reap the rewards of the Fowler factor...

I am going to have to combat the Robbie Fowler suggestions until he retires aren't I? http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...1945109,00.html

harpendenfox Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Jonas Elmer and Benoît Assou-Ekotto may both be avalible on loan next season though, impressive recommendation, but will we able to give him a song ooh, ooh, ooh, Benoit Assou-Ekotto does have a certain ring to it I'd suggest

Benitez doesn't actually say he's staying, just that he's the best finisher and if he leaves will need replacing with an equally good finisher. He'll probably be their fifth choice next season, he doesn't appear to need the money (if his alleged Liverpool property empire is true) and at that age I'd expect him to want to be playing. I personally don't think he'll be there next season. Although while he fits the profile of Pompey signings, I don't think he'll be here next year either!

No fooking way, he's an arrogant lazy tosser who comes up with the odd decent free-kick every now and again. No-one will ever be able to sort his attitude, he always has been a twat and he always will be.

They have already linked up Voronin but have been linked to some mega money moves for the likes of Villa and Torres. Lets not forget that the Scousers now have a load of cash to spend and although Rafa has been clever in bringing back a legend and talking him up as the best finisher at the club, he knows that Robbie isnt quick enough to get into the positions he used to and he also knows that he wont be leading there attack next season. Even now, with Voronin coming in I reckon Robbie is 5th choice and thats without the mega money coming out. I doubt whether Robbie woeuld step down a division or go to somewhere like the States for a year but I get the feeling that he would gladly stick around at Liverpool until he is 40 and wouldnt give a monkies on whether he played or not. Rafa may have other ideas though!
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 26 February 2007 Author Posted 26 February 2007 What about a gamble on Lee Trundle..... linked with everyone in the world but never moves... would he stick in this div or bottle it???
Geo V Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 What about a gamble on Lee Trundle..... linked with everyone in the world but never moves... would he stick in this div or bottle it??? I wouldnt bother taking the risk now as he is 31 in October. He seems quality but hasnt any pace and that does find out so many players at this level and above. He should have moved on 3 or so years ago but for some reason is happy in playing in the 3rd tier of English football.
Joe. Posted 26 February 2007 Posted 26 February 2007 Somebody like Lee Cook from QPR or Darren Carter from West Brom? We have to think realistically here. As for Fowler he is going nowhere. He is just pleased to be at Liverpool and I don't think he cares too much that he's not in the first team. I'm sure he'd rather turn up training everyday for the club he loves rather than a very mediocre Championship club.
