Please, be honest. If he did then he miss read your views.For the last time I stated that you should explain the views YOU WROTE on THIS BOARD. You wrote that opinion, and I'm of the opinion they wouldn't be happy with your lapse attitude towards the subject. If you or other people are too stupid to understand the above then that is your problem.

War is sometimes necessary, in this case many gave there lives for the injustice and freedom of others, when they could easily sat at home and thought about themselves and there kin. A memorial is the least we could do in there rememberance!!! But that memorial need not take the form of an ostentatious monument. Ostentatious monuments are perhaps the ultimate way society has of promoting and glorifying something. A discreet memorial room in Winchester library, with a focus on 'Never Again' and 'No More War' would be much more suitable than a monument to 'Our Glorious Dead'.

LH, nobody's glorofying death or our dead, but we do remember, and these monuments help us remember those that have sacrificed themselves for the good of humanity, and for freedom and truth!!! Let's not take the monument and twist into something it isn't!!

The understanding that I have taken from your recent postings is that you neither care for the feelings of others or their beliefs; that you are fast disappearing up a political cul-de-sac and alienating everyone else on the board as you go. As I said in a previous post, we agreed on many things and I found you posts interesting...but the contributions to this and the 'Happiest Day' threads have been ...err... extreme. Consequently, when I wrote in jest about you pseudo-sponsoring paedophilia your replies since have not ruled it out...rather, they leave open an interpretation that you are happy for it to carry on as you do not believe laws should be enforced by a police force. This could be construed as tacit support for paedophilia. I for one would like to draw a line under all of this now. It pisses me off.

I could take this thread off on a new fun tangent and try to argue that the soldiers didn't have much interest in truth, nor did they have as much interest in freedom (as we now understand the word) as people later claimed. But, seeing as I like you all too much, I won't.

Can a moderator please add this to the end of the scum thread? After that, I'm happy for the thread to remain locked.
