lookwhaticando Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 An ex has discovered I have signed up for Facebook. I'm wondering whether to flat out reject her or not. But that's not the point... Point is, it got me thinking... Has anyone ever been able to completely avoid any of their exes forever? I've managed to dodge this one for a couple of years now, I even fobbed her off with a false phone number (I was feeling particularly devious that day). She's still a safe distance away regardless, so I'm in no real danger of her knowing where I live now or anything like that... haha. Have any of you got some good stories about exes and your strategies for annoying or avoiding them?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 I never stay in touch. Sometimes intentional, sometimes not. Never happens. Bit sad really.
cisono Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 Strategy 1): Move to another country (a bit extreme but works very well)
Bert Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 Strategy 1): Move to another country (a bit extreme but works very well) Like Italy??
lookwhaticando Posted 12 November 2006 Author Posted 12 November 2006 Strategy 1): Move to another country (a bit extreme but works very well) Given a few years, I can swing that.
shen Posted 12 November 2006 Posted 12 November 2006 Well considering I have classes almost every day with my latest ex, it's not really possible to avoid her. Tip: Think twice and once more just to be sure when you think about starting a relationship with someone you study/work with!! But I've not had any "bad splits" so my ex's haven't tried avoiding me, and vice versa...
lookwhaticando Posted 12 November 2006 Author Posted 12 November 2006 This was an ugly split which is half the problem. What's annoying is, she still thinks - after all this time - I'd like to be friends with her, despite all the crap she did and all the grief she caused. Apparently, me doing everything possible to avoid her hasn't drilled the message home... yet. It's been 4 years, you'd think she'd have got the message by now.

DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Yeah. If you want to ignore them in the true sense of the word they eventually go away. That however doesn't stop their dad coming around in future with a baseball bat and a chip on his shoulder
shen Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Teachers doing students is a real no-no I'll use any kind of legal methods to get the best possible grades
Guest Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Have any of you got some good stories about exes and your strategies for annoying or avoiding them? My hubby's ex is a bunny boiler. Sadly I haven't been formally introduced, and for some reason he isn't keen to do so....
cisono Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Like Italy?? Italy is a country. But I think LWICD is more likely to want to move to Sweden
Dr The Singh Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Ignore is totally valid and acceptable, if you don't want to communicate with him\her then what's wrong with that!!

Perhaps you need to be less subtle and more direct? Also, you have a responsibility in terms of her future behaviour: if you don't get her to understand that she caused lots of grief and there are consequences to that (such as you not wanting to be friends with her), she'll happily go around doing that to others for the rest of her life.

Don't fall for it LWICD, it's known as the 'pussy' trap, she will say she wants to be friends, then bang, she will seduce you and after sex expect a relationship!!! I know, I know, i have far too much of a overactive imagination for first thing on a monday morning!!
Dr The Singh Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Do not get me started. You know you want to!!
The People's Hero Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 You know you want to!! I don't want to...
Dr The Singh Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 I don't want to... Don't want to open old wounds hey......... :pinch:
The People's Hero Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Don't want to open old wounds hey......... :pinch: I used to make a habit of messy relationships. I might write a book. I have some fantastic memoirs. Much better than memories or anecdotes. Although the book would be fairly anecdotal and rambling in it's structure (or lack of).
The Don Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 When I split up with my ex. I got a phone call about a week later saying "guess what". I guessed correctly, she was pregnant with my baby. So that was pretty bad, but he was born in July, and he's great. Unfortunitely me and the ex are still arguing as bad as before!
lookwhaticando Posted 13 November 2006 Author Posted 13 November 2006 Italy is a country. But I think LWICD is more likely to want to move to Sweden It's on the cards. Perhaps you need to be less subtle and more direct? I would have thought "fook off" was direct enough last time it came up? She's been told repeatedly that she was sh/t to be around. She won't change though. They say her latest bloke is a bit of a druggie... I'm led to wonder if the drugs came first or she did? Either way, he's been in rehab at some point. This is her life now - being with people to out of it to know how truly bitchy/annoying/manipulative/devious she really is. Don't fall for it LWICD, it's known as the 'pussy' trap, she will say she wants to be friends, then bang, she will seduce you and after sex expect a relationship!!! I know, I know, i have far too much of a overactive imagination for first thing on a monday morning!! There's no way that could possibly happen, just the thought of her being within a mile of me makes me nauseous.
lcfc_jme Posted 13 November 2006 Posted 13 November 2006 Ignore her and avoid making comments about sensitive issues - things get a whole lot worse that way :pinch: me face got a right stinging for that! Failing that, let her know in no uncertain terms that she is not wanted, you have moved on and she should leave you the fook alone as she has got no chance!!!!!! unless she's giving it up, then you may have to re-think strategies, obviously not too hard, 'cos Singh's last post points out a scary scenario!!
