The People's Hero Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 A slice lies in front of me. I've never had it before. There is a palpable tension in the office. A bead of sweat forms on my forehead and palms... Will I like it? I'll be eating it in 10 minutes.

The People's Hero Posted 22 November 2006 Author Posted 22 November 2006 Well do you like carrots? Yes. Not raw though. I actually asked for Chocolate Cake but my secretary went ahead and got Carrot Cake anyway.
Wils Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 Ive never had it before. Ive heard great reports of it though.

Sigma Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 To be a proper carrot cake it is a must that it has pineapple and raisins in it. The cream cheese icing can also make or break the cake. If the icing is too thick all is lost.

Who likes and who doesn't? If you haven't tried.. I recommend it.
Master Fox Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 Did you know you can train a donkey to bite someone’s wiener off using a carrot?
Katy Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 I like the creamy bit better than the cake, it's just about acceptable when consumed together. Tesco's chocolate birthday cake, for me, is the best cake in the world.
Phube Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 Carrot cake is gorgeous!!! But weirdly tastes nothing like carrots... which I also like (raw and cooked)!! Should be eaten at least once a week!! mmmmmm...

A bead of sweat forms on my forehead and palms... Will I like it? I'll be eating it in 10 minutes. Carrot Cake does not contain carrots - It is a Singaporian delicacy Fried Carrot Cake or Chy Tow KuehNo, this has nothing to do with carrots as you know them, nor is it related to the carrot cake that is found in bakeries. Singapore's Fried Carrot Cake is made from rice flour and 'white carrot', or radish, which is quick-fried with soy sauce, eggs, garlic and delightful bits of pickled radish (chai poh). If you like it slightly sweet, there is the 'black' version of Fried Carrot Cake, which uses sweet black soy sauce. If you prefer it more savoury, ask for the 'white' version which omits the sweet sauce. The result is a tasty and satisfying meal which makes a good breakfast or supper. Rumour has it that local gangsters do not consume Fried Carrot Cake, no matter how much they might crave it. Apparently white radish slows down the body's healing process, and being gangsters, there is plenty of need for quick healing! A plate of this costs about £1

Deathside Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 Any good DS? It's good stuff - A bit like an omelet with spud and chilli in it - goes down particularly well with a large bottle of Tiger beer
Deathside Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 Is that dog food? Dogs eat food with chilli in?
lookwhaticando Posted 22 November 2006 Posted 22 November 2006 Not had a slice in ages. I do like a good slice from time to time, though.
