Manwell Pablo Posted 28 November 2006 Author Posted 28 November 2006 That isn't actually that hard to do! Was it me or did their celebration seem to go on forever? What a running left foot volley from a ridiculously tight angle thats was bent around the keeper. Even the Sampdoria fans appaluded.

Well isn't he left footed? As for a right footed player like me it's not difficult to do if you get the right connection on ball as its drops to your foot. It’s been done many times!! Those Sampdoria fans don't really have much to cheer about when their team is getting humiliated by a poor Roma side.

I think not. I remember Morten Gamst Pedersen getting nominated for goal of the season over here for left footed volley that was no were near as good as that. Look at the bend it's perfect, no room for erroer and he made none.

Look at the bend it's perfect, no room for erroer and he made none. I agree that it’s an excellent goal. It takes great technique to pull it off. The Morten Gamst Pedersen goal you're referring to was fantastic, he wasn't given the time or the space Totti is shown there, and the way he smashed the ball into the back of net was brilliant. I would also question the goalkeepers positioning as well on Totti’s goal, but make no mistake if you take your eye off the ball for split second your shot could end up going out for a throw in on the far side.

Pedersen had as much space and was alot closer to goal. There is nothing wrong with the keepers positioning he has to guard the near post
The People's Hero Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Absolutely fantastic. Cheers Manwell!

Joe. Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Compare and contrast? Now that's what you call an amazing goal!
lcfc_jme Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Both goals were well out of the top drawer. Smashing strikes for very different reasons. Top stuff
Random Burglar Posted 29 November 2006 Posted 29 November 2006 With the pace of the game, it was an immense goal. It might have been easier if he was under no pressure at all.
