If this bid fails

Recommended Posts

If the Milan bid fails surely one of the other interested parties would come forward..

I doubt there ever where any serious other potential bids, we're Leicester City (18th in the Championship) not WestHam or Villa :(

Still the deal is taking a little while, but the general indication is that it'll go through and to be honest the way the board and MM have acted (effectivley unvielding Milan at the Wednesday game) suggests this deal will go through.

If this bid fails the very worst we will have to put up with will be lackluster football in the bottom half of the championship!

We would need investment from someone Milan or whoever! Fact is this club is losing Millions every season because of the stadium debt!

I don't think Leauge 1 is a possibility by the time we got to that point if investment was not found we will be in administration or out of business. Remember when the board said we made a profit last season of 1.5 million was it? well take away parachute payments 5mil per season? and the David Connolly sale 3 million and do you see the problem?

So if this bid fails and no other is found.................

Leicester Rovers? or shall we support Friar Lane?

Jeez, some of you guys worry over nothing. It's called 'business', it's not about keeping fans happy at this stage it's about securing the deal, crossign the T's etc. Do you really think the bid is going to fail? The deal's being done, we'll hear about it as and when, he's not going to go off and buy someone else just because we're playing badly or because it seems to be dragging out (which it isn't anyway). I believe it was said that it should all be done the week before christmas, and, Hello? we're not there yet but some of you lot bang on about it like we're in the middle of Feb! He'll be in by Christmas and money will be available for the New Year, people can't seriously doubt that I mean he's not goign to miss the transfer window is he? Now let's all take a deep breath and concentrate on drumming up support to oust the current playing and managerial dross so when it is all signed sealed and delivered uncle Milan knows exactly where to start rebuilding our club.

Maybe. A deal's not a deal until it's agreed. And there isn't a bid yet. A bit that takes the piss will fail.

The deal's being done, we'll hear about it as and when, he's not going to go off and buy someone else just because we're playing badly or because it seems to be dragging out (which it isn't anyway).

But he might if the shareholders think the deal isn't in the interests of the club, or if there is a better deal elsewhere. Or if MM thinks that he can do better elsewhere.

I believe it was said that it should all be done the week before christmas, and, Hello? we're not there yet but some of you lot bang on about it like we're in the middle of Feb! It was suggested that he'd be in place by Saturday, partly based on what MM has said (and that's what plenty of people have run with). That's not going to happen. He may submit his bid by Saturday - but to then be in place by Christmas then looks difficult given the 21 days...

A bid hasn't been formally tabled yet. It's in the process of being drawn up, Blanderson has said so today. The Trust thought it was going to be in by last friday, but there are still some details to sort out.

The 21 day rule, is how long the shareholders have to decide whether to accept or not. Most of them, if the offer is as good as what was told to them back in November when they agreed for MM to look at the books, will accept pretty much straight the way as they are getting their money back. It's probably going to be the end of this month until he officially takes over.

We don't expect the bid when eventually finalised to be the same as that outlined bid back in November, bit of a moving feast we understand. This has both positive & negative impacts, overall its still a wait & see situation.

Whispers are that the bid has hit snags.

For whatever reason, certain shareholders (who do NOT include the FOXES Trust) have got cold feet and may not wish to sell to Mandy.

Perhaps he'd have done better to deal with them directly rather than stir up unrest via the media.

It's still likely that the takeover will happen before the New Year. But it won't be the momentous life-changing event that some may have hoped for.

How many of Mandy's current backers on here would turn on him in an instant should he announce (as is quite possible) that he wants to keep RK as boss for the foreseeable future?

MM has told us that directly

.................but then the West Ham new owner said publically he wouldn't sack Pard.....

Thanks for clarifying that.

It corresponds to what he's told the Mockery. No doubt some will choose to remain in a state of denial.

Meanwhile, I read this quote on another forum..

...our information is that once the board have something they feel will get sufficient backing from shareholders will they that put the proposal to them.

This suggests a split among the shareholders (the basis for my previous post).

Any reason why this should occur?

Or is the consensus in favour of the bid a lot weaker than we've been led to believe?

I also get the feeling there is snags its the only reason for such a delay, I do believe the foxes trust on this one that that no bid has been recieved yet.

Regarding rob kelly if manderic kept him on I wouldnt instantly start wanting manderic out, I think rob kelly isnt the one to take us forward but who knows with money he may prove me wrong.

How many of you guys have ever bought a house?

Did it take three or four weeks to go through or longer?

Did you hit any snags when buying the house or was it all smooth sailing?

If you did hit snags did it delay the sale?

Have you considered that compared to a house, this is on a much bigger scale both in size and value?

Didn't MM say that he wanted to put his bid in nearer to Christmas but had his hand twisted by the possibility of other bidders getting on board?

Why have these other bidders suddenly gone quite? May be the size of its bigger than they expected and MM has a realistic bid in with the club. (They could be waiting in the alleyways for MM bid to fall over and come in with a discouted bid which will be no good for the club)

Do you really expect a deal of this size to go through in three or four weeks? If so stop.

Please wake up and stop dreaming and get behind the bid.

Its a decent bid and at this stage offers the only light at the end of a very long tunnel. Part of the distance in the tunnel is getting the bid sorted out so that all parties can move forward together for the best of the club. If its right for the club and takes six months to get it through then so be it.

If it was my money I would be doing EXACTLY the same in making sure the "I" are dotted and the "T" crossed, as I no doubt you guys would as well.

On the other hand one of Harry Potters mates could wave the magic wond and get it sorted instantly.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY FOXES

It's a good point you've raised here Ultra, i'm intirgued to know the answer. What is strange is that last month, Andrew Taylor said that no decision would be made by the shareholders as to whether they back the proposal at the meeting that was hastily arranged. That day arrives and the shareholders are massively in favour (some reports that every single shareholder present backed the take-over) and Taylor comes out and says MM has been given the green light to check the books and make the offer formal.

Now there's a delay and rumours that some shareholders have got cold feet. I wonder why?

I don't think there has been a delay. I don't think MM ever planned to put in a bid before 15 December.

And the November meeting was only to give him the green light to go off, look at the books and prepare a bid. Since then, MM has been talking to Taylor and the board - in part trying to sound out what is the minimum he needs to offer and commit to in his bid. Some of the proposals will have been talked over with other shareholders - some of them will have said that there is a figure that they won't go below or a commitment that must be in the bid.
