Alexikokopops Posted 7 November 2010 Posted 7 November 2010 "Lets touch base about this offline" is a particular one I heard in a meeting on Thursday.
clare Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 The word "revert" being used instead of reply for no discernable reason really annoys me - the crowning achievement comes in an email I once got which said something like "escalate pls - action and revert to me" I work for a law firm and "revert" is used practically at the end of every piece of correspondence I receive! It also amuses me how some people say "I should be grateful for your assistance" instead of something normal like "I would be grateful for your assistance". Bizarre.
Vacamion Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 For some inexplicable reason, about 2 years ago everyone started putting "Kind Regards" at the end of business e-mails. It now feels rude if I don't respond in kind. I hate it. And yesterday I heard that that someone had said, in all seriousness, "Let's put that one in the ideas fridge and see if we can snack on it later" Sigh
Houdini Logic Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 Anyone ever play bullshit bingo on a conference call? My link
cambridgefox Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 I used to be a manager at a high street bank, the management speak was laughable. Lets have a buzz session.i was tempted to bring the wifes vibrator in! Where i work now,my MD uses the words C**t,fook, twat and **** nearly every sentence.A breath of not so fresh air. I also note the Higher up grades in the bank were up there own arses and thought they ruled the world, which made me chuckle. My MD is one of the lads, drives a Ferrari F430 and i have only had 1 sales meeting in 8 years! Of course i have never told him he is a good boss!
clare Posted 9 November 2010 Posted 9 November 2010 "Let's put that one in the ideas fridge and see if we can snack on it later" I don't know how anybody could say that with a straight face!
