The brave leicester fans...

I listened on the radio, I felt so bad for those that travelled down. I was going to go , stay in a hotel like last season, have a few beers in the town etc. SO BLOODY GLAD I DIDNT go this year.

The report on the radio as the game progressed was really depressing, I can only imagine what the reality was like for the travelling fans.

Yes Southampton are a good side, but a bit of fight and spirit wouldnt go amiss. Its not the loss , its the manner of the loss that pisses me off.

s'oton have been the best set of fans home and away ive witnessed this season.

sheff wed at the walkers comes close but who wouldnt be milking it when your thrashing a poor side 4-1?

Glad you enjoyed your day out despite the weather.

However, are you taking the piss about your supporters putting Saints fans to shame? Considering the delay, the weather etc, Saints fans either side of you never stopped singing.

I was sat right beside the Leicester fans and could hardly hear a thing, I did notice about 15 people at the back singing, that was it though.

I always thought Leicester had a passionate support, however having been to most games at SMS and Walkers between us in previous year, I have to say, Leicester are the quietest fans I have come across.

Not a wind up, just the truth.

But why should you judge Leicester fans on one game?

I appreciate that we want to save face and not look divided but even if that fan is basing it on one game we know it's much more then that...we've struggled to be really vocal all season.

The way their support outsang us on both sides was very effective. If we could produce that kinda thing at the Walkers it would be fantastic!

Wish the game had been called off now!

I am not judging on one game, as I said earlier, I have also been to Walkers 3 times in the last 2 years and SMS last season as well. I am judging you lot over 5 games.

It is not a dig, you have exactly the same stadium as us, I was just pointing out what I think could be done to get the same atmosphere.

The Walkers is awful for atmosphere. LCFC fans are too.

Unless we are top of the Championship or in the Prem, this will never change.

As for the 'brave' fans going........they are not brave, 'brave' is a strong word.

They are LCFC fans, thats all.........with plenty of money to throw at the club.

... who travelled down to Southampton in this appalling weather i salute you all. you gave Leicester a good name and it sounded like you were in good voice

your a credit to Leicester well done

:appl::worship::appl::worship:

Good voice??!

With all due respect my freind your fans were the most quiet fans iv ever met, 4 maybe 5 songs overall in about 2 hours, more including the delay.

Dont blame ya thogh to much, didnt really have much to cheer about ;)

I don't think he gets out much, so a mutter from fans gets him excited.

Or maybe they're just loyal and passionate about the club

We were shit yesterday to be fair and Soton made it look easy to create a great atmosphere in a plastic blow away stadium identical to ours.

Im moving from the Kop to L1 next season , we need to create a better atmosphere at home and slowly but surely the singers from the Kop are moving to L1.

good lad bertie, come join me and maybes at the back lol

someone could write to the club and request the kop to be moved to the family stand

i like that 'We're the itchen, we're the itchen' chant, quite funky that. :P
Reminds me too much of Highbury. <_<

Been there, done it, got the T-shirt.

I would have loved to have sung, but as I have tonsilitis, it wasn't really on the cards. I found myself contemplating during the second half how good it was that Soton made the strips extra wide on the fat sized replica shirts. :o It was more interesting than the game itself.

I'm more than likely going over there as well.

Excellent, the more the merrier.

And I've got a feeling you're probably not the only ones.

I'm still unsure whether to move to the back of the kop or to L1. Definately moving because i'm the only one who sings where i sit, and this never used to be the case.

L1 is the answer.

L1's your best bet. The back of the Kop is decent, but the singing section is sort of linear, it's spread right along the top 2 or 3 rows of each block. Whereas in L1, the singers are all closer together cos you've got the back 10-15 rows of L1 plus a couple of rows at the back of K, which helps created a better atmosphere.

The standing at the last home game went down to row Z in the second half.

Only just got back!

Well done to you all who went down! I was getting a bit worried when they thought it might be called off good job sense provailed.

I thought our support was average but had the potential to explode if we had scored. Apart from the peeps at the back we were very quiet. I can't believe how similar St Mary's is to the walkers.

The atmosphere is better than the walkers as the home fans surround you more (unlike the walkers with the the joint IQ lower than 10 - L1 and familys having a picnic on the other side.

We didn't seem to play with much ergency but I didn't southampton were that good either. Their performance was a bit like some of ours at home. If the lucky 2nd had not gone in and we'd took our chance it could have took a different path. Southampton could argue that they could have had 4 but that was only towards the end when we got a bit more adventurous. We deserved to get beat though.

I then got very very drunk out in southampton last night!

Quote of the day must have been their version of Birch before the game. He had just got news that there was going to be a pitch inspection and it possibly could get called off and after breaking the news he said "but no one needs to worry because there is another song on the way"!! TW*AT

That would be Mike Osman, he is always looking for wind-ups, which is probably why Saints fans where laughing at first when he said the match was delayed, we all thought he was having a laugh.

Osman can be annoying at times, but he is a Saints fan and a pretty well known comedian and impersonator as well as a Radio DJ so sometimes he can be amusing.
