Sunderland post-match thread

We were just beaten by a much better side than ourselves.

We have no quality and are never going to be up there anytime soon, so there's no point in being optimistic about things.

Positives:

1. Danny Cadamarteri- Looked very good after coming on and even won all the headers.

2. I thought Fryatt played much better than I thought he would do

3. Henderson's performance

4. Kelly made drastic changes, and tried to change things after So'ton. At least he's trying different ideas.

5. Kelly's substitutions were very good in my opinion.

We could all sit here and moan about Kelly but when is it going to be time for the players to take some responsibility? Kelly tried to make drastic changes from the shocking performance against Southampton and I don't disagree with him at all for doing that. We were just beaten by a very decent Sunderland side who made life very difficult for us on the day and played very well.

The bottom line is we just aren't good enough.

cadamateri looked prety good today, he might not be match fit or sharpe but i think he looked good and willing to play

he kept things simple and effective and he played some good balls

Umm I must have missed that bit then,I think he had a couple of runs and a few succesful passes..but looked good???? (mind you I suppose if your compairing him to McCarthy today then yer he was world class  )

They were not much better than us, but we didn't even compete and that is criminal.

The players are not playing for the management and that is clear for all to see, they hate him.

 he was so far off the game it wasn't funny. I thought he would be a decent chance, he isn't.

No service and playing alongside that goon O'Grady was never going to help him.

Positives:

3. Henderson's performance

He's still shit and instills no confidence what so ever.

Positives:

4. Kelly made drastic changes, and tried to change things after So'ton. At least he's trying different ideas.

Yes, but they were suicidal everyone around me was moaning before kick-off and how right they were.

5. Kelly's substitutions were very good in my opinion.

Aye, 0-0 when he made them and how did that turn out?

Kelly is to blame, when the players don't want to play for him and his changes are like that then the blame lies with one man and his coaches.

What?

1. He's a million miles off sharp and didn't even physically look match fit.

2. If you thought Fryatt played better than you expected then you must have had real low expectations

3. Henderson made some good saves granted, but that's his job,he still scares the shite out of his defenders that's blatantly obvious.

4. Kelly made changes after the Southampton match because he had no choice, we were so bad,all he achieved was to make us even worse.

5. And best of all Kellys subs were a brilliant piece of footballing genius,he managed to turn a scrappy draw into a glorious defeat ...doh!

Anyone see when Hendo clattered in Stearman and didnt even check to see if he was ok... just shouted at him and walked off

He deserved it Stearman was sh*t today! :P

Overall very poor, the players didn't have a clue what to do with the ball when it came to them.

 shambles from start to finish something has to be done soon, It's pathetic how we get a couple of good results and people (including me) act as if everthing is fine, It really isn't!

Someone said sunderland were better than us, they were terrible its just we were worse!!

Their fans were better than us though, it was a discrace down at the walkers this afternoon!

And the worse thing is we'll probably put on a one off showing v fulham then continue to display that shite in the league.

2. I have got low expectations of Fryatt's performace, yes. Can you blame me? When was the last time Fryatt started and had a good game? Exactly. So therefore he played much better than I thought he would.

3. I agree Henderson is crap, but his performace was still a positive from today's game.

One funny story though, when Dwight Yorke was taking ages to get off the pitch after being substituted someone behind me shouted

"Get off the f***ing pitch!"

And then the bloke next to him said,

"He doesn't want to trip over his cock though does he?"

lol

went to the match today and i was in shock from start to finish. But today, for me anyway Kelly was not hte problem.

The players were just so lazy today, Williams did absolutely nothing apart from stand in the center-circle for 90 mins.

There were a few good individual efforts but as a team we were absolutely shocking

I think I can honestly say that is THE WORST City game I have ever been to in my life. No passion, no commitment, no guts. This is a poor excuse for a Leicester City team. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Also, my toe fooking hurts cos I kicked a metal pole when Sunderland scored. I think ive split the nail from the skin. £12 down the fooking drain, I really feel for anyone who had to pay more to watch that garbage.

You obviously haven't been to many city games...

Southampton last week for much worse for a start....

Ah... Where would be be without our team eh? Probably happy somewhere...

I've been to plenty of City games, and have never felt so depressed and fooking annoyed after a game as I do today. Everything about that performance was spineless, gutless and a fooking insult to the fans.

I agree. That was a really entertaining game apart from the fact that Leicester got a thrashing. But City were still better than at Southampton. At least we had a few shots and a few free-kicks/penalty claims that might have led to goals. Southampton was something worse altogether.

Please explain to me which aspect of that game seemed 'entertaining' to you. To a neutral maybe, but as a City fan I was embarrassed at how shocking we were most of the time. Absolute horrow-show.

KELLY:

"We don't blame individuals and as a group we didn't perform anywhere near the levels we know we can but there wasn't a lack of effort."

"We won't brush it under the carpet because we can't."

source

So, Rob - why don't we blame individuals? Individuals like YOU for instance? Who should be coping the blame for this? The team? FFS! :@

What the **** does the whole bit about carpet sweeping have to do with the price of fish anyway?

The man is a sodding moron.

I'm royally pissed off because, quite honestly, I dont believe all of our players are shit. For some reason they do not want to play for Rob Kelly. He inspires no confidence and I'm not sure they're being trained right either. None of our young players has spectacularly improved under Kelly.

There's only one solution if you ask me.

lol Loved that.

Same here. It was the best part of the day!

No lack of effort? What the hell is he on about?

Anyone get the feeling Kelly turns up to the press conferences high? It's probably the only way he can cope without topping himself. Urgh What a crap game. I've really never been so disgusted by a performance, especially in the first half. It was also like being at an away game at some points, in terms of both performance and atmosphere.

Only two players who looked like they were trying were Fryatt and Henderson. Fryatt had one clear shot on goal and would have hit it over the crossbar if the goal was twice the height. Henderson really kept the scoreline from being an embarrassment though. Helluva performance from him. Williams was absolutely shocking today. I don't rate him particularly at all. He's technically superior to most of our players, but how hard is that, really? He goes missing for huge chunks of games quite regularly and makes up for it by doing something memorable or working hard for twenty minutes. Keep an eye on him for an entire game - I've never seen a player walk so much in a game in my life.

Kelly out? I dunno. It's a bit premature, but I really don't know. I don't want him gone desperately but I don't want him to stay particularly either.

let's face it the last 2 games have revealed our true level. bottom 7.

1 players not motivated kelly to blame.

2 players look disinterested.

3 defence a complete shambles. mcarthy rubbish kisnorbo overrated. no left back at the club?

4 midfield useless. not one creative brain cell between them. no wide players who are any good.

5 attackers don't look like they can score. controversial but are they any better than devries?? who the manager has fallen out with and shipped off to Holland.

6 levels of fitness not good enough. manager and board to blame here for lack of reserve fixtures.

7 set pieces a complete joke. find out who is our best striker of a dead ball and let them take them all.

8 leaderless on the pitch. mcarthy is clearly not a leader.

let's be clear we were completely outplayed today by a side that showed the desire to attack and won because of it. i would suggest they have a manager with the arrogance of a winner who is slowly transferring this to his players. 2-0 was not a true reflection of the match. henderson alone stood between us and a savage mauling in which 4-0 or 5-0 would not have flattered Sunderland. in contrast we have mustered 1 shot on target in the last 180 mins of football. this is simply not acceptable and the manager should be forced to explain why this is the case. my patience is starting to wear thin.

on a seperate note what is going on when we have someone coaching the junior player (taggert) who we cannot afford to pay yet his predecessor was being paid. this is the depth of our financial woe into which our current board have led us. to them i say sort this mess out before you manage us into the world of oblivion!
