Wycombe Fox Posted 8 January 2007 Share Posted 8 January 2007 I've supported City for 38 years now but I don't remember us ever having an away shirt like this! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BNWOT-1975-Leicester...1QQcmdZViewItem Anyone know if we had a striped away shirt in 1975? Looks more like a West Brom home shirt from the mid-70's with a City badge sewn onto it!
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2007 Share Posted 8 January 2007 Well, the seller's a phoney one, keeps posting the same replies to all the questions. Highly doubt this to be LCFC shirt. I personally believe they made this one up. Didn't the 1975 shirt feature a circle-shaped crest? Yes, it did. Plus there was no visible UMBRO tag. Thank god for "Fossils & Foxes". It's a fake - probably made in the Umbro factory when we and West Brom both had deals with them in the late seventies. Someone has swapped a baggies badge for a City one. MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2007 Share Posted 8 January 2007 So, now the seller's stating that it could be "from circa 1975 onwards". The crest on that shirt started to appear in 1979 and lasted until 1982. That'd also explain the UMBRO front writing.
DB11 Posted 8 January 2007 Share Posted 8 January 2007 Also how can the condition be "New" if it was from 1975? Surely it'd be old but good condition but not new ;)
Brummie-FOX Posted 8 January 2007 Share Posted 8 January 2007 If your buying this, I think you've made the wrong idea on posting it. Other interested people may like it and put in a bid for it

Sooper Steve's shin Posted 8 January 2007 Share Posted 8 January 2007 If you're buying it, you must be small - size 30/32?!!! I have never seen City (live or in photogtaphs) in a shirt anything like this. I'm not sure we've ever had thick vertical stripes on any shirt - pinstripes, quarters, diagonal and horizontal stripes maybe, but not those (unless anyone knows otherwise?). It's a WBA home shirt 1977-1981 underneath the City Badge there is a diagonal WBA in intallic script, the shirt was discontinued in 82 when sponsorship started and Albion had BSR in a red box on their shirts.
