filbertway Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 I have seen worse performances than this, calm down, have a bud, and look forward to a day in the las vegas of England
Hullfox Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 Blackpool dint deserve any where near 3 points.Makin was piss poor yet again so to was Scowcroft he really has to go.De Vreis when fully fit will be a real threat but he was only 50% fit.Maybury looked good and made some good runs down that right hand side.So Bloomfield road here we come.Im going aswell , am i on drugs 53001 Probably yeah because you don't get points in the FA Cup 53005 errr, you started it Ricey. SilverFox Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 I thought from when Maybury and DeVries came on we looked more balanced, and for the last 15 minutes we played some good football. Very poor before that, and without doubt Gareth Williams was MOTM for me. Created the first, scored the second, and played some very good passes. I am impressed, and see the foundations of a team are not as far off as we think. We need to improve, but I am sure that when Levein gets his own players in we will see a big difference. I would also add that I can see why Levein has not attacked his players...their confidence is clearly very low at home (which to be fair began a long time before Levein took the job), to attack them further and point out inadequacies would be the final nail in their confidence. Sadly the only way we can become confident at home is by winning there...this will take a bit of steel and determination from the players, and a lot more support from us as fans. We were very poor today. I actually feel ashamed because Blackpool had very good support.
Cat Burger Posted 8 January 2005 Posted 8 January 2005 Williams' goal was an immense finish... I'm well impressed with him. He plays well when I watch I don't get why he gets slagged off?

I've criticised Williams because although I can see he is talented he has not put in that effort and was therefore wasting his talent which in my book is criminal. Today I saw a big improvement on that part of his game for about 60 minutes of it, whether he is now fitter or had a talk with CL I don't know let's hope he keeps it up and moves on to playing like that for 90 minutes. He was my MOM too, no not my mother but the best player .

Its just a case of getting some confidence in the team. The last 15 minutes of the game proved to me that we can play some good football. Silly mistakes (today Dublin in particular) show us why we don't get to see the good football that was on display in the last 15 mins that often. Football is a confidence game. If you don't have belief, you don't have a prayer! We could have destroyed Blackpool today, but there wasn't enough courage or belief in the team, and it is a real problem that can only be adressed by winning games of football. I just hope this happens sooner rather than later

Leicester_Mad Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Levein started with the same team that won on monday because he wanted to install a bit of confidence. We dont win many at home so to do it on monday was good, albeit we didnt deserve it. If he had changed this then what would it have done to their morale. I thought Dublin was the best player on the pitch bar his mistake and we should have won the game
Ash Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Blackpool aren't a good team , we made them look good that's all.
Mark Posted 9 January 2005 Posted 9 January 2005 Blackpool aren't a good team , we made them look good that's all. 53226 No we didn't. They didn't look good at all, so for them to draw 2-2 shows how bad we are.
Ric Flair Posted 10 January 2005 Posted 10 January 2005 How many times do I have to say it, Williams is never going to run around allday like a twat. He is an attacking midfielder and his strong points are his darting runs in to the box and his ability to pass the ball. That's what an attacking midfielder does. When you have a player like Williams you need a defensive midfielder to do the simple things and give the ball to him, that player also needs to battle well. I can't see why Williams gets criticised for things that aren't essential to his game. Does Connolly get criticised because he isn't a quality tackler? He doesn't need to be. If we had a player who was a perfect foil for Williams then there wouldn't be a problem. If Dawson played alongside him I think you'd see what i'm saying. I can't believe that a player has to battle like **** to be classed as trying, from what i've seen of Williams he does try and get stuck in but that's not what his game is about. We have a good player in Williams, let's cherish that fact and not get negative because he's not the same as all the other shit players we've been used to for a while.
