TAFKA Castroneves Posted 14 January 2005 Posted 14 January 2005 I'm going to see the Foxes take on Reading in the Championship in February - I think its Feburary. And my friend who I am going with has a box and has got us into the players bar. I am not sure if the Leicester squad will be in there, but who knows. Maybe one of you guys know, but I'll still be able to see Big Les now hes a Reading player.

Oh and thanks for saying he turned up at your parents wedding, that really does show up how old I am.
Jonesy_rules Posted 14 January 2005 Posted 14 January 2005 it's k, surely you can't be that old! The wedding was 20+ years ago!
kirkup21 Posted 14 January 2005 Posted 14 January 2005 I went to watch Leicester play Sheff Wed a few years ago with my mate and his boss. On the way we stopped to pick Stefan Oakes up and he sat with us at the match. Nice guy really.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 January 2005 Posted 14 January 2005 I've met most of the players from the last 4 years and had pictures taken with them but probably the best autograph I've got is Sir Bobby Charlton's from a couple of years ago. I've also got Martin Peters' autograph but he doesn't rate as highly and Sir Bobby Robson which is nice. Used to get the opposition players autographs but i don't anymore. The friendliest person I've met over the years is MON. You won't find a friendlier man if you tried. It was a couple of days before my 10th birthday and we'd just played Sheffield Wednesday. Me and my Dad waited for about three hours after the game to meet Martin O'Neill and eventually the lady from reception asked who/what we were waiting for. When we said, she invited me in. I waited for a couple of minutes and all of Martin's family were in the corner waiting for him too. He came out still doing his tie up and shook my hand he said 'You're absolutely freezing why didn't you come in earlier?' He asked about me and my family and when I told him my Dad was still outside in the cold he told the receptionist to bring him in. He asked me who I thought was man of the match and then he gave me his autograph that said happy 10th birthday at the bottom. He went back into the changing rooms and came back with some tracker bars, cans of Coca Cola and a bottle of wine that was made the same year I was born. He gave us all that too. He's an amazing man anyway but for me that's a time I'll never forget. I've met MON at my church as its just over the road from the training ground and he popped in one saturday at an easter service when he was here with Phil Gilchist no less! I've also seen many of our past managers this season at the managers dinner at the walkers(as I work there). Was that St Andrews church near Freeman's Holt on Old Church Lane? My Grandma lives at Freeman's Holt and I know Will Johnson (Martin's bro) lives on Old Church Lane although his house was up for sale recently.
Bedford Fox Posted 15 January 2005 Posted 15 January 2005 I ave met loads of city player and have had my pic taken with sav, muzzy, flowers, walker etc But earlier this year i played in a cambridgeshire cup match for a local non-league side and we played a side called Buckden (i think). And i played up front.Up front for them was ex city player Scott Taylor. After the game a few of us were chatting to some of their players and they said he only played a few games cos he was local. His knees were knackerd aand all scarred. He he still scored. BTW we won 2-1

Nationwider Posted 16 January 2005 Posted 16 January 2005 Gordon Banks once presented me with a winner's medal at a school football tournament. As he handed over the medal, he winked at me and his false eye shot out. Being something of an ace goalie meself, I pounced to my left and caught it!* *Part of this story isn't true, btw.

Ok then, I was at Shrewsbury V Swansea earlier in the season and he was warming up (there was no one else around me at that point so I know it was aimed at me) and he sort of did a double take and gave me a saucy grin come wink thing - perhaps he thought I was someone else!
