Piss-up in memory of Janx

I guess whether you knew Janx personally or via exchanging views on here, everyone is going to have been touched by this. He was a young man, with a family - one minute he was posting on here and the next.... it does make you think about your own mortality and how this could quite easily have happened to any of us.

Personally, Janx wasn't that much older than me and had a child a similar age to mine, there but for the grace of God and all that. It's so unbelievably sad, I hope there will be a lot of people out after the Cov game to raise a glass in his memory.

The only day next month that I can't get back to Leicester so gutted I can't make it but will raise a glass to him anyway

On another point! Did anyone else feel a bit different getting into their car today? I don't know what it was but I just felt the need to take my time and concentrate on my driving a bit more.

I was thinking about it this morning and my driving actually suffered as a result. Very jumpy. Think I was *too* aware of what was around me and of my movements (pedal wise) which are usually pretty subconscious/second nature.

Does that make sense?

Anyway, I had that feeling where I didn't feel quite 'able' to drive and how scary it was and the damage i could do.

Horrible.

As for raising a glass to Janx - I'll do all I can to be there.

I felt very weird, made me think of the risk we take every time we get into our cars and how we need to be fully aware at all times. Its a terrible thing and it could have happend to anyone.

Unfortunately I am not going to be able to attend, but rest assured I will be raising a glass to him that evening. I just know he would want everyone to get pi$$ed in his memory.

You are so right, it could happen to anyone at anytime. There were 14 tradegies on the roads up here over the weekend, that's a frightening number of people.

There is nothing that anyone can say, nothing that anyone can do to ease the pain of a loved one passing away.

Its these type of situations that everything to do with football, with our jobs and with life, means hardly anything.

I lost my grandad suddenly who taught me all i know about LCFC. Its a shame and in a lot of cases devastating.

But i beleive they are all upstairs cheering the boys on and willing us to happynes.

RIP chap... I didnt know you but nomatter what happens in football or life, its a shame.

I'll certainly be raising a quiet glass to him. So many people knew him personally that it would feel like gatecrashing a party to join his friends.

I was chatting with him so recently on the forum that it is still hard to cope with the idea we'll never exchange views again.

A very peculiar feeling indeed. One that puts all the trials and tribulations of life into proportion.

And emphasises how you should never take your own family and friends for granted - but always make time for them when you can.

Rest in deepest peace Janx and know that you're deeply missed by so many.

Swaby Baby will come to town from rainy and windy Sheffield tomorrow in order to raise his glass to the occasion.

Looking forward to meet plenty of friends and familiar faces, and I'm sure it will be in Janx' spirit!
