Scow Posted 2 February 2007 Posted 2 February 2007 Yeah, it's true. Do you people who are self employed? Do you know people who own a business or businesses? If you do, and you have an account with HSBC, you will get £50 per business that opens a business account with HSBC via your referral. (providing they're not already with HSBC, obviously) Want to know more? Well, let me know.
Nationwider Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 Could we have a full tariff of your business a/c bank charges please?
Scow Posted 3 February 2007 Author Posted 3 February 2007 Could we have a full tariff of your business a/c bank charges please? Well, if you wasn't so lazy, you could have just logged on to the website. Anyhow, we offer 18 months free banking for new start up businesses - and 12 months for any business switching to us. After the free banking period, there are two different tariffs to choose from. Look here, you know you want to. Anyone in the Charnwood area, I'd be you business manager, so gerrin there.

(providing they're not already with HSBC, obviously)I don't have an account with HSBC. Can I just have some free cash? £200,000 will do for starters.
Daggers Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 Well, if you wasn't so lazy, you could have just logged on to the website... It's the tariffs that got me ~ but the hospitable service that keeps dragging me back
Steven Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 I don't have an account with HSBC. Can I just have some free cash? £200,000 will do for starters. I expected you to think bigger than that.

Nationwider Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 Soars HSBC bank unveils record profits HSBC has enjoyed another fruitful year HSBC has unveiled the biggest profits ever by a UK High Street bank, making a pre-tax profit of £11.5bn($20.97bn) in 2005, aided by growth in new markets. Much of the profit has been made abroad by the global bank, which operates in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas. The news comes after HSBC's peers also recorded strong profits and amid claims from some economic and consumer groups that major banks make too much profit. Less than one-fifth of HSBC's profits are made in the UK. HSBC reports its profits in US dollars, which at today's conversion rate would be £11.91bn, however the bank takes the average exchange rate from over the year in reaching its sterling figure. 'Growth market' HSBC, which has 110 million customers in 79 countries, was largely an Asian bank until it took over the UK's Midland Bank in 1992. Analyst David Buick of Cantor Index said: "HSBC has an array of branches in Asia, Hong Kong, China, Brazil, and the US - which has probably been its main growth market over the past decade." He said banks now had their "best opportunity" to drive up their custom by offering mortgages and credit cards as well as customer accounts. Last month Barclays reported record pre-tax profits of £5.28bn, up 15% on the year before. This was followed by Royal Bank of Scotland, which reported a 21% rise in annual pre-tax profits to nearly £8bn, and by Lloyds - up 4% to £3.47bn, and HBOS - up 17% to £4.8bn. The UK's big five banks are expected to unveil combined profits of... more than the gross domestic product of Luxembourg Banking on record profits But think-tank New Economics Foundation claims the poorest 10% of people in the UK who do not have bank accounts are being ignored. And consumer group Which? says that despite appearing to offer choice to customers this was not the reality, and that there was a high level of dissatisfaction with the big High Street names. Pension worries However HSBC, the world's third-biggest bank by market value said growth was led by its personal financial services unit, which provides savings accounts, mortgages and other services to more than 100 million personal customers. "They look like a strong set of results," said Richard Staite at SG Securities. "One pleasing aspect is to see revenue growth steadily accelerating in the second half." The bank said it had benefited from a strong US economy, a resilient UK economy, buoyant emerging markets, and recoveries in Japan and Germany. It also said the near-term outlook was positive but there were long term uncertainties caused by "the unprecedented level of trade imbalances" and under-funded pension plans around the world.
The People's Hero Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 I switched all our business banking to HSBC a little while ago. No free money and sh it service ever since!
cisono Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 I switched all our business banking to HSBC a little while ago. No free money and sh it service ever since! Business banking is rubbish across the board, methinks...
The People's Hero Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 They are rubbish at everything a bank should be good at. We've identifed TWO separate paying in errors in under a year. They've completed ballsed up all our pension plans. They regularly charge us for services which we should get for free. This then does get resolved but why charge us? I think they try to get away with it, relying on us not noticing. They never answer the phones at the branch - we're premier customers and supposedly get a priority answering service at the branch. Bollocks. Absolutely diabolical. We moved from Lloyds because they were so slow. HSBC are just plain incompetent though. Avoid.

So they'd probably give you £25 when you open the account and then charge you for "free" services. Geniusl!

What services are you expecting to be getting for free? And you're only a 'Premier' customer on a personal not business basis. To be a 'Premier' customer with a dedicated Relationship Manager, you need to have at least one of the following: 200k Mortgage, 50k worth of savings or a annual salary in excess of 75k. If you let me know which branch contacts you need, I'll look in to it.
Guest Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 I expected you to think bigger than that. I'm not being greedy. I want to clear my mortgage, and then have enough money to get me through the rest of my degree and then professional training, without having to work for my present employers.

We have an arrangement with HSBC regarding exchange rates and waiving of various 'fees' as we are a business which trades in sterling, USD and currently another 4 currencies. At almost every stage though... it's been ballsed up! I seriously spend so much time in there trying to get them merely to do what they have said they will do! I thought we were a premier business account holder, that was my understanding from my boss... I'll look in to it though and possibly get back to you! What I'm most annoyed about is the pension situation which they have completely fooked up and the guy who set it up has now left and seriously no one else wants to deal with it... they just have the attitude of 'it's not my department' or 'yes I work with pensions, but this isn't one of my accounts'... It might well be the way it works but I'm sorry, I find it unacceptable.
Lukeh Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Dont believe anything this guy tells you! He will ask for a meeting, tie you up and take you for all you got!

Katy Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Can I just say that Scoweh is my business manager and he STILL owes my account £10
The People's Hero Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 I just wanted to stress... none of this is anti-scoweh! I admire the fact that he has taken time outside of the working day to consider my concerns and perhaps see what he can do. It's appreciated mate. If HSBC Maidstone were similarly helpful/competent/bothered, I'm sure I wouldn't be so disillusioned with the HSBC overall.
