Which Players Should Stay?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH PLAYERS EVERYONE THINKS DESERVE TO STAY FOR NEXT SEASON AND WHICH ONES ARE FOR SCRAP.

KEEP THESE: MAYBURY, DABIZAS, GEMMILL, CONNOLLY, DE VRIES, WILLIAMS, HEATH, WRIGHT, DAWSON, TAYLOR, TIATTO, STEARMAN, WILCOX, MORRIS, CANERO, WALKER(IF WE CAN).

GET RID OF: SCOWCROFT (LAZYBOY), STEWART, NALIS, GUDJONSSON, MAKIN, KEOWN, DUBLIN, GILLESPIE, ELLIOTT, BLAKE, PRESSMAN, BENJAMIN.

BUYING ANDY KIRK WOULD BE A GOOD THING TOO!!

I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF STEWART, I DON'T THINK HE WILL EVER IMPROVE A LOT MORE THAN WHAT HE IS NOW.

DABIZAS CAN DO IT HE JUST NEEDS A GOOD TEAM TO PLAY IN.

WILCOX AND GEMMILL ARE SQUAD PLAYERS, NOTHING MORE.

WE NEED A FEW LOANS LIKE ROHAN RICKETTS, JOHNNIE JACKSON FROM SPURS OR OWUSU-ABEYIE FROM ARSENAL.

if we had sold scowcroft to norwich for 500,000, that would be daylight robbery on them.

This thread has just reminded me of Morris again - where the hell is he now? Not injured again I presume.

Keep:

Stewart

Walker (if we can)

Maybury

MDV

Heath

Canero

Gillespie (after his improvement he deserves more time)

Connolly

Gudjonsson (as a backup)

Williams

Wright???

Stearman

Tiatto

Morris

Nalis - depending on how he plays for the rest of the season

Get rid of the rest.

I'd be happy to see them all go, except Maybury and MDV although I would concede that this would be very disruptive.

They have all been infected with the desease that is failure with some obvious symptoms such as, the inability to pass, run and I don't give a ****. It also means they are suffering from exhaustion and can't last 90 minutes.

If I was pushed I'd say keep

Connollly, Stewart and maybe Williams plus Stearman (not considered the other youngsters like Dawson)

As for the rest  as I don't give a ****.

Connolly's been downright professional and he keeps trying... it's not like he intentionally keeps hitting the post so I would say keep him... Stewart's done well since CL came and Williams could do well in the long run too. I would personally keep Walks too as he has done his job and done it well. And if Keown wants to stay I'd keep him too..

Morris has been told to go on holiday for a couple of weeks after what has been a very busy season for him :S

Actually I heard the man got injured again a couple of weeks ago in training - his hamstring, must be the strain of all these competetive matches he keeps playing.

He's already gone though, his contract has been paid up.

Keep:

Walker

Canero

Tiatto

Heath (ideally as cover for a new central pairing)

Gillespie (unless we get someone better in the summer)

Stewart

Williams

Stearman (obvious)

Connolly

Wright (a bit iffy, for backup at most it seems)

Maybury

De Vries

Nalis (if he improves this season)

Roughly a man for every position

Get Rid:

Morris (no-one will want him, but he can go for all I care, little sheep)

Dabizas

Keown

Dublin

Scowcroft

Makin

Gemmill

Elliott

Wilcox

Blake

Pressman

Gudjonsson

his mind is elsewhere. Stick him back on the right wing and he will do okay for us. Like he did last time we were in this league.

Which players should stay? Well the ones that have to stay are the ones that have got something to offer us next season and there's not many of them in my opinion. I still think players like Lee Morris have a lot to offer us even though he's been injured most of the time. He's got youth on his side and, if we can get him consistently fit, will provide enthusiasm. I can understand why some of us aren't that thrilled with his never ending injury list and lacklustre performances when he has made his appearances but you have to imagine how tough it is to get back into competetive football after being out for so long. I still think Canero is a good player too and I'd like those two to stay at least until their contracts are up. Ian Walker is an interesting one because we all know his contract's up at the end of this season and that he's one of the higher earners at the club but I think if we can get him on reduced wages and on a 1 year deal he's another player that will be good for us. They're just a few but my main point is we need to bring our age down and get the mercenaries out.
