Leonisco Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Again? Yeah, not sure why I put that in. Now edited.
Tommeh Posted 11 February 2007 Author Posted 11 February 2007 I have to agree although personally my favourites in past series are when they have raced across Europe. Not that funny I admit, but having gone through Europe on road with my family I just like the excitement. yeah same, The Mclaren SLR race to Norway, DB9 to France, ferrari 612 to Switzerland and Bugatti to London from Italy were all brilliant. not much car advice given anymore and its changed so much from the earlier series, imo its changed for the good! its now so funny and we all know and love the presenters away from testing cars. And to be fair who wants to see a road test on a Ford Mondeo I still watch the repeats, simply love 'em
Flynny Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Missed the first 20 minutes for the second week in a row, but it was proper good.

Louise Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Great episode tonight. Especially loved James writing 'Man-Love Rules Ok' on the side of Hammond's car.
Flynny Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 How much of the rampaging Alabama people did people think was real? I suspect sadly little of it.
Tommeh Posted 11 February 2007 Author Posted 11 February 2007 How much of the rampaging Alabama people did people think was real? I suspect sadly little of it. I think most was real actually, you have to bear in mind that TG is not known at all in America I may be fooled but most things they get up to is real life events
Joe. Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 I think most was real actually, you have to bear in mind that TG is not known at all in America I may be fooled but most things they get up to is real life events Yeah and you know how crazy Americans are...
Flynny Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 I think most was real actually, you have to bear in mind that TG is not known at all in America I may be fooled but most things they get up to is real life events You think they really burnt down a car wash and then ran off? Or burnt their own caravan and some other people's in a chip-pan blaze? Doubt it.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 You think they really burnt down a car wash and then ran off? Or burnt their own caravan and some other people's in a chip-pan blaze? Doubt it. Well you could actually see the fire in both so yes. The BBC can afford to pay compensation for damage anyway.
Tommeh Posted 11 February 2007 Author Posted 11 February 2007 You think they really burnt down a car wash and then ran off? Or burnt their own caravan and some other people's in a chip-pan blaze? Doubt it. wouldn't put it past them
Flynny Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Well you could actually see the fire in both so yes. The BBC can afford to pay compensation for damage anyway. Yes, but that would be staged and scripted rather than 'real', would it not? (yes)
lildave3 Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 That top gear was quality! Best of the series so far, one of the best ever. But i agree with some people in this thread that the winter olympics one was the best ever.
The People's Hero Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 How much of the rampaging Alabama people did people think was real? I suspect sadly little of it. None of it. We all know it doesn't take very long to fill up your car... Also, they wouldn't have stuck around trying to 'jump start' the car, they'd have all jumped in with the camera crew vehicle, surely?
Matt Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Yes, but that would be staged and scripted rather than 'real', would it not? (yes) Who cares? I and many others found it funny.
The People's Hero Posted 11 February 2007 Posted 11 February 2007 Who cares? I and many others found it funny. You're missing the point. Too defensive and jumping to conclusions. No one said it wasn't funny and no one was criticising the show. What has been suggested is that some of the comical events we see, might not purely be the product of coincedence - some of it might be staged. Is that so difficult a concept to entertain as plausible?

Suffolk_fox Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 How cool would it be to be a TG presenter though. I mean, these guys REALLY love their job, you can just tell.
Joe. Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 How cool would it be to be a TG presenter though. I mean, these guys REALLY love their job, you can just tell. It has to be one of the best jobs going. They get paid to drive and test the world's best cars, meet celebrities and present a television show...
The People's Hero Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 How soon Hammond's crash has been forgotten.....
lildave3 Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 It has to be one of the best jobs going. They get paid to drive and test the world's best cars, meet celebrities and present a television show... And travel around the world. It really is the best job around
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 It has to be one of the best jobs going. They get paid to drive and test the world's best cars, meet celebrities and present a television show... Lets not forget getting your hear burried in the ground after 210mph crash. Quality.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 How soon Hammond's crash has been forgotten..... It makes for a better show, like in the 1st show he said he wanted no fuss because he had made a full recovery.
lildave3 Posted 12 February 2007 Posted 12 February 2007 Lets not forget getting your hear burried in the ground after 210mph crash. Quality. That was a freak accident. When a footballer breaks his leg, people still call it the best job in the world don't they I know there's a difference between breaking a leg and nearly dying before anyone says it. And after all, it didn't happen to May or Clarkson so they can still call it the best job in the world
