That was a freak accident. When a footballer breaks his leg, people still call it the best job in the world don't they :dunno: I know there's a difference between breaking a leg and nearly dying before anyone says it.

And after all, it didn't happen to May or Clarkson so they can still call it the best job in the world :P:whistle:

Good, as there lies the point! :D

How soon Hammond's crash has been forgotten.....

Lets not forget getting your hear burried in the ground after 210mph crash. Quality.

I hadn't, nor would I forget Hammond's accident - but in spite of the crash, he IS back, and clearly enjoying his job. Would he do it otherwise?

The point is due to the risk involved in ragging around over powered cars week in week out, it's not the best job in the world. Not whether or not Richard Hammond enjoys his job.

It was really wasn't it :P

Sorry - wasn't being harsh mate. Just know of a few people who have died on the roads and don't think you can really compare the two.

It's certainly a good job anyway, especially if you're in to cars.

I hurt my already hurt ribs watching this last night. One of the funniest ive seen for a while and it's funny anyway. Didn't like the way they kept going on about trying to get the others killed, it may only have been in jest but it's like Hammond's accident never happened.

Speaking of Hammond, he's always looked like a rabbit caught in headlights hasn't he? but yes, he does look a little gaunt.

To be fair though Katy, Richard did ask them never to mention the accident ever again.

Yes, you are right he did but the killing thing felt a bit crass to me.

This was all filmed before Hammond had his crash.

Most of the stuff we are seeing on TG now was in the 'can' before the crash. Even Clarckson wouldn't have been so insensitive as to mention the crash again...I certainly havn't heard him mention it in the studio since the first episode.

I thought the REDNECKS were really scary. the guys were really lucky that they didn't show up with guns.

No sense of humour some people.

I did something similar a couple of years back, around the same roads...only instead of getting legged by Rednecks I got run in by a hick cop for busting his chops.

Seriously - Road Trip around the Southern States is highly recommended.

I was shocked to see New Orleans like it is though ~ it was one helluva place when I was there just before the hurricane. Getting to Memphis was a real hoot too.

Go people ~ get a rental and go! It's only 50 cents to the quid now...a bargain holiday!

Oh, Arkansas is not pronounced Arrr - Kansas and it is a dry State on Sundays

Our Kid did that with his mate - they bought a camper van from a hippie in Carolina for two thousand dollars - he threw in the cooking kit and utensils for free. Six months later it was still running them from State to State.

Go on Matt - Go Stateside! :D

You have to do the road trip. Just be prepared to meet lots of rednecks you can't understand, who can't understand you, and don't like it!!
