Skysports.com understands a number of Championship clubs are trailing Bury's Marc Pugh.

The talented midfielder has enjoyed a fine season at Bury with a number of eye-catching performances.

Pugh, whose current deal expires in the summer, has turned down a new contract at the club.

The news has alerted a number of clubs who could make a move for the 19-year-old at the end of the season.

Leicester and Colchester have been credited with an interest in Pugh, but there is also thought to several other Championship sides keeping tabs on the player.

Pugh is believed to be looking to keep his options open before making a decision on his future at the end of the current campaign.

I'd rather have Danny Pugh.

Thats who I thought this thread was about.

Marc Pugh has shown alot of promise though, looks like a good young player. Big differnce between League Two and the Championship though.

well hes out of contract in the summer. I think its good when we get lower league players becasue they have something to prove like mcAuley and they no what its like to be playing in a lower league.

Try telling Josh Low that. Oh, I get your point!

Exactly what I thought this thread was about. Don't know much about this other guy though.

His name keeps cropping up in match reports that i read but i can't say i know too much about him. Still, if he's only 19, he must be worth a look.

i have a bury-supporting mate who reckons he's a good player for league two level, if a bit lightweight, but won't cut it in the championship. at 19 though he's got plenty of time to improve and if he's signed on a free he cant be too much of a risk. i saw him play for bury away against hartlepool a few weeks ago and he got a few decent touches of the ball but the hartlepool left back was about twice his size and kept him quiet for most of the game.

Nugent and Simon Whailey came from League 2 level, both from Bury in fact so I'd say its well worth the gamble looking at how those two have turned out.

Although if he were to go to anyone he'd probably go to Preston, but I doubt we'll be in for him now we have the cash.

Indeed, I didn't say he wasn't good enough I was just pointing out highly rated in League 2 doesn not = world beater. If we can pick up any rated young player on a free than we should do it.
