Hasn't Gary Newbond recently become Chairman of another midlands cricket club? Setanta's director of sports, Trevor East, is an LCFC fan he used to be in charge of ITV sports.

Louise Posted 4 April 2007 Posted 4 April 2007 I'm pretty sure Jon Sinclair is a City fan, he's been following us for longer than Barber at least, no idea why he got passed over for the job of main commentator. Maybe RL have a policy of not employing LCFC fans as commentators with some misguided idea of decreasing bias.

It therefore amazed me when after being off the air for a while, presuming he'd been sacked, he'd actually got a job working for Central Soccer Sports which was the old ITV programme that showed midlands Championship games on a Sunday morning. Then to now see him doing the stuff he is doing on the BBC, just goes to show that how bad you may appear on the radio you can still be a success on the box.
