Tevez Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 We played Ice Cream, what a magic game. Doubt if no-one has heard it. Bulldog has to be favourate, sometimes we nip down village at lunch and play it, quality.
Wezleylowski Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 i remember some kid once saying, if we play this till we're 16, we'll be hard as fu*k, someone turned round and goes 'we'll be in wheelchairs by then' one of them had to be there momets. but still very funny you would get hurt playin it when you where 16 it would be mercilous, when i was about 10 someone much older than me kicked me out a tree and i dropped about 15 foot, lucky i dint land on ma head
Trumpet Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 Manhunt was the best, especially on winter nights in the woods! Mainly jsut played football at my school though..
Smudge Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 These are a list of traditional street games I can remember playing up to age 11. Rounders Snobs Marbles Hopscotch Queenie Faggies Oranges and Lemons Leapfrog Hide and Seek French Cricket In the autumn we played conkers and when the snow was about we had slides and obviously snowball fights.
Guest Gist Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 That's babyish. We had to say "Caught British Bulldog 1-2-3, No release" All whilst holding on to the person, or it didn't count!! We played "Wall-ey" - The game where you take it in turn to kick a football/tennis ball at a wall, but you only had one chance! Yeah, they were the rules at the school I went. Bulldog was my favourite after Football... with a tennis ball
Smudge Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 After the age of 13 Looking cool on Birstall playing fields Three card Brag Poker Get your older mates to bring you a beer in the pub garden
Leicfox Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 Pitch & toss - I lost plenty of dinner money playing it.. If you dont know what it is or call it something else, its basically nearest to the wall with a coin wins with 2 players, but with more players after you get nearest the wall you have to shake the coins and call heads or tails and you keep the coins you call correct.
samingram_uk Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 Wall-eyBulldog Mahunt. wall-ey is that kickin a ball agenst a wall, with one attempt, if it is, we call it squash
Nod.E Posted 13 April 2007 Posted 13 April 2007 Yeah. There was a game called bulldog or something which was brilliant. British Bulldog perhaps. It basically involved not being the last to get from one end of playground to other whilst not getting caught by people between. we play that at football training, quality stuff
Geo V Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Before I moved to Leicester when I was about 14, I lived in Ramsey, Cambridgshire and they had a great Playground activity at school. If you are caught fighting in the playground you are summoned, like it or not the gym the next day for a 3 round boxing match with the lad you were caught fighting with, screened live to a watching audience of fellow students FFS! That was a great game for a 12 year old ! My record was fights 3 won 2 lost 1 ! Other than that we used to play pounds up the wall of 50p up the wall and I think this was the start of my gambling addiction PMSL
Simi Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 wall-ey is that kickin a ball agenst a wall, with one attempt, if it is, we call it squash You can play however many attempts you want.
Phube Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 You can play however many attempts you want. Hah, our wall-ey you only had one kick, and if you missed the wall you were out! Nomatter where the ball ended up!
Durnerz Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 Hah, our wall-ey you only had one kick, and if you missed the wall you were out! Nomatter where the ball ended up! Ah, a classic! British Bulldog we played, Cops and Robbers, Stuck in the mud, kiss chase, manhunt, Tig/Tag, Football obviously!
