The Reverend Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I thought he was brilliant today and with a good midfield partner would've ran the show. He has so many assets to his game, the biggest being his tackling- the amount he put in today was phenomenal. He can also pass- although most of the time he keeps it simple and rarely gives the ball away. After the injuries hes had hes done brilliant to come back and perform like that in a terrible LeicesterCityFootballClub side and i think he deserves a lot of credit. So bring on next season (i pray in the championship) and bring on a good midfielder (or 3) in the close season.

Toby or not Toby Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 hes still young and i feel could be the answer to what we have lacked since neil lennon left, somebody to brake down attacks and pass the ball simple and start attacks. i just hope he doesn't get injured!
Wils Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Played well. Got stuck in. It wasnt hard to look playing along side the other clowns in our team though.

Mikey Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Yes I though he was brilliant today...MOTM stood out.
Thracian Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Definatly. I thought Barton said the lad was washed up. His performance was a big plus. King, Weso, Porter is our best available midfield - it has passing accuracy, passing variety and far more movement and stamina than anything we've had up to now.
lee7 Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 other than the first five minuites and a few good spells in the first half weslowski was the main positive from the game and its a credit to him to be playing in the team again this season after those two leg breaks

The Reverend Posted 14 April 2007 Author Posted 14 April 2007 He did ok but let's face it wasn't hard to be the best in another dismal team (and I use the word loosely) performance! No it wasnt hard to be the best midfielder no, but i thought he was as good as if not better than Norwich's own Wesolowski, Dickson Etuhu- the Nigerian international. The fact that he Jarrett was non-existant is an even bigger credit to Weso. Another thing is that he looks very fit now (compared to earlier in the season) and has a very good engine for buzzing around the midfield.
Joe. Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Well it's just great to see him back. With the crap we have he's easily our best central midfielder. He had a real battling game today and outshone Jarrett easily. Hope there's more to come from him and that he can get a good run in the first team going for a while.
Sods Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Wesolowski and King to drive us to a League 1 title championship safety?
Simi Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 He played well but playing along side Jarret who must of had some sort of repeller on his boots made it easier for him to look good. But well done to him, he did well.
Thracian Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Wesolowski and King to drive us to a League 1 title? I don't yet see why they can't save us from relegation. I think we've got an extremely difficult job on trying to beat Birmingham but it's the three games afterwards that I'm looking towards. We need something to be shaping up by then. And for that reason - and because we're at home - I would play Mattock and I would go with the fast supporting, attacking team I've mentioned. It would be the ideal opportunity to finally see what they can do. The team I'd play is: Logan, Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock/Sheehan; King, Wesolowski, Porter; Newton, Hammond, Hume. subs: Henderson, Nils, Fryatt, Hughes, Cadamarteri. It's by no means perfect and I must confess Stearman worries me more at right back than Mattock on the left but I'd be hoping all the ex-Academy lads would give him a sense of purpose..
OzFox311 Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Good to see Weso back in the side and playing strong... he is a good talent and I hope he can continue to be good for us for the seasons to come. I agree there with TheBigJohnSteade, we have some good players, sadly we have some though who just don't care, and that sort of attitude brings down teams, no matter what sort of talent they have.

My impression is that Weso and Hughes are our best chance at having a decent central midfield. It also seems to me that Porter's season has gone bust.
Flexx Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Another positive - Jarrett picked up a knock after colliding with Weso Didn't he injure another rubbish player before
Stevosevic Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 He could be brilliant in the Championship, just imagine the levels of his performances in League 1 next year!
Candidcamera Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Logan, Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock/Sheehan; King, Wesolowski, Porter; Newton, Hammond, Hume. subs: Henderson, Nils, Fryatt, Hughes, Cadamarteri I would not mind this line up but mine would be Logan, Stearman, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Mattock, Hughes, King/Wesolowski, Maybury, Porter, Hammond, Hume. And if we struggle put Hume behind the front two and bring on Newton & Fryatt.
Ric Flair Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 When Wesolowski get's his match fitness up to scracth he's quite simply an absolute unit to get past. I've never seen a player of his age be able to consistently tackle, win the ball and run with it in one motion. In the 2nd half he was leaving their midfield for dead at times, he just kept making the mistake of giving it to Jarrett when we were on the attack. It would be a massive in-justice if Wesolowski wasn't allowed to fulfill his huuuuuuuge potential, if he can stay injury free he's the best midfielder we'll have seen since the Lennon, Izzet, Savage era. One of only a couple of positives that can be taken out of the past few weeks at LCFC.

Ric Flair Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 Surely Newton or Cadamarteri have tested positive aswell? It's been quite a positive few weeks after all then. Why's everyone so fookin miserable then?
