potter3 Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Couldn't give a fock to be fair.Don't want that lard of tub in charge here before some knob mentions it Why?
Brainy Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Now who wants to start the ''Sam Allardyce for Leicester'' thread?
mat_j101 Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 According to several newspapers this morning, the Man City job is pretty much his next season! !!IF!! thats true, good move. Man City have much more potential than Bolton, especially if they are being taken over and will have some decent money to spend!
lookwhaticando Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 He was going to leave at the end of the season anyway wasn't he Allegedly. So sudden, quite surprising. Where to next, Sam? I might put money on Newcastle.
Milky Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 He'll only take over at Man city if Ray Ranson and his pals take over the club.
Bryn Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Official Statement From Sam Allardyce AFTER nearly eight privileged years with Bolton Wanderers Football Club, I would like to announce that, after careful consideration and dialogue with my close family and senior officials within the football club, I will be resigning as manager of the Club with immediate effect. It was mutually decided that I step down now rather than at the end of the season, to give my successor the ideal opportunity to experience the preparation and build up of matchday in readiness of next season. The decision to leave the football club, which has been my spiritual home for over 18 years, as both player and manager, is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make in my life. However, after guiding the team into a position where the Club is on the verge of qualification for European football for the second time in three years, which has been the accumulation of almost seven years of strategic building and hard work across all areas of the football club, I feel it is the right moment to step down from my duties and welcome a new exciting era for the Club under different leadership. I feel the club is in a great position to continue its upward trajectory with a talented internationally recognised squad, supported by an excellent Academy programme across all ages working under the guidance of a highly-skilled football management team. I believe the foundation of the next phase for the next development stage of the Club is well and truly in place. It is with this knowledge that I feel confident that I am moving on with my life content with a legacy that I have tried to create for this special club and I wish the owner, chairman, staff, players and above all the fans every success in the future. Sounds to me like a manager for Bolton has already been lined up... Chris Coleman anyone?

lildave3 Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 I'm shocked tbh. I wanted him in charge of England, I think he's a brilliant manager. I'd say he'll go to Newcastle now...
lcfc_jme Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 I'm shocked tbh. I wanted him in charge of England, I think he's a brilliant manager. I'd say he'll go to Newcastle now... That's what my money would be on. Allardyce to Newcastle next season. Bolton have lost the reason for their success so I'd expect their season to be much different next year. Man City will fail to attract him if they don't get the takeover.

FilboFox Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Well look at it this way... it's not at all good news. Bolton - No manager Newcastle - Might have no manager Man City - Might have no manager If that happens, well then there's Allardyce, Pearce, Coleman and Roeder left on the market... the first three are likely to be snapped up by the Premiership teams which leaves Roeder. Back to Leicester, with Allardyce, Pearce and Coleman all taken, we have the choice of Roeder, Worthington or an unproven manager like Ince or Adams... I'm getting worried.
JoeyB Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Billy Davies? anyone reckon he might leave derby to go there?
Matt Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Billy Davies?anyone reckon he might leave derby to go there? Well the rumours earlier in the season were that even if Derby got promoted he was to leave at the end of the season. They were only rumours and nothing has come of them but maybe.
Brainy Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Thing is if one manager replaces another, another manager is out of a job. So if Coleman goes to Bolton, Allardyce to Man City, Stuart Pearce anyone?
FilboFox Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Thing is if one manager replaces another, another manager is out of a job.So if Coleman goes to Bolton, Allardyce to Man City, Stuart Pearce anyone? No, no and... er... NO!
Simi Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 Allardyce will end up at Newcastle I think. Great challenge for him after all of the underachievment of recent years.
lookwhaticando Posted 29 April 2007 Posted 29 April 2007 I think Coleman might end up at Bolton. I might put money on that, too. We could be headed for a bit of a managerial merry-go-round at the end of the season.
