dan_84 Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I like Tiatto as team Captain but id like someone young and someone who will be here for many years to come, like Elliott was.
Ric Flair Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Maybury for me. Hard as nails and is going to be here for a fair few years.
foxesfan69 Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Maybury for me. Hard as nails and is going to be here for a fair few years. 61665 I wouldn't say Maybury. Hasn't been here long enough. I would say Dublin even though he has not even been here a season yet but he is from Leicester, probably supports City and would know what it is like to play for the club you support. He would be honoured.
BartonFox Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I tell you who should be made Club Captain and it is none of the current playing staff. The Club should appoint the entire Leicester City Football Club support as Club Captain. Reading had a sixth substitute, Berti Vogts named the Tartan Army in one of his squads but they are gimmicks of the highest order. If we are not there week in week out then there is no Club for the players, management or administration to work for.

He would be honoured. Matt Heath supports City and has been with the club since he was a teenager. He would be honoured too but that's not a good enough reason to make someone captain. Leadership qualities, a bit of talent yourself to lead by example and motivation skills are more important.
Ric Flair Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Dublin won't be here after this season and is a prize bell anyway. He's really disappointed me this season and alot of fans, I wish Micky would come and snap him up, it would benefit us greatly. Maybury hasn't been here long enough but as far as a long term captain he could be the answer, not sure how vocal he is though. Tiatto is the obvious choice at the minute, but he's gone on record saying he wants to finish his career in Oz. His deal runs out in june 2006 and I imagine he'll seek a move back home then.
Scow Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I think it has to be Tiatto for the time being. We don't really have any leaders on the pitch apart from him. Heath is certainly not captain material. He's far too quiet and uninspiring. Oh, and shit.

I was just saying that just because you love Leicester, doesn't mean you should be captain. Foxes fan said Dublin should be because he supports Leicester, I was just using Heath as an example why that's a poor reason to lead the team.

I was stating my views on the subject.
Guest Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Tiatto, the only natural leader we have at the moment.

Benji Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 personally i'd say tiatto but as it obviously winds up scowy and sam i'd HAVE to go with Heath
davieG Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I don't think there is an obvious choice at the moment, although Tiatto might give that impression I believe you need someone with a cool head that can stand back a little ( I know Walshie was the opposite to that but things move on in football) and bring momemtum or calmness as and when appropriate plus have an intelligent football brain, for me Tiatto is too gung ho, But I'm happy to bow to CLs choice of Tiatto but I would like to think that eventually someone like Maybury, Williams, Stearman or Dawson, maybe Hughes would be developed to take on that role.
Mark Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Maybury for me. Hard as nails and is going to be here for a fair few years. 61665 I wouldn't say Maybury. Hasn't been here long enough. 61666 Ok then, Stewart because he's been here the longest It doesn't matter how long a players been here for, if they influence others and help motivate the team when things are not going our way then they have to be chosen for the job. I'm unsure about Tiatto, he puts in the effort but i've not been as impressed as some have been with him, he offers width which is essential so he must play for the time being. Maybury for me, followed by Tiatto and maybe Heath cause he's a Leicester fan.
Nationwider Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I don't think you can nominate a club captain, can you? By default, it's a title inherited by the current captain when for whatever reason (usually injury) they lose their regular place in the team. As a long standing pro, the "club captain" picks up the captaincy as and when they can return. It's a sad for LCFC that there isn't an obvoius choice for the captain in general. Too many short-term contracts and not enough home-grown talent have left us without any heroes of late. Tiatto has always stated that he wants to return to Oz so he's not going to be here for the long-haul. I'd like to see Scowcroft be given the armband - he's been very consistent over the last few seasons. Ok, he doesn't bother the back of the net very often, but he's consistently played out of position (take note, Mr Bellamy) and does so without any (public) complaints. I'd like to see LCFC offer him a good contract to stay on and see out his career. It would send out the message that LCFC rewards consistency and loyalty - what WE want in our players. He might lose his place up front to Connelly and MDV, he'll always do a good job wherever he plays.

Consistantly shite, he don't deserve a reward for that, and if the rest of the team tried to follow his example i daren't imagine where we'll end up He doesn't do a good job anywhere. We will not offer him a contract to see out his career, if we do im going to #### protest <_<
MADLEVEIN Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 i opted for walker, club captain should really go to one of the longest serving players. i can see why tiatto has got lots of votes for his sheer passion, but his passion has always been the same. if dublin was to get it it might raise his game that bit more. tricky subject.

I'd like to see him stay tho. I think more than anyone else, JS divides opinion amongst City fans. I'll hold my hands up and say I've not seen more than about half a dozen games live this season, so if he's been s**t of late, then fair enough, I'm not best placed to comment. Over the past 4(?) season, though he's done well. If MA had any faith in him, he might have done better. We'll have to agree to disagree on him. Anyway, he'll prob go home to Ipswich on a free in the summer if/when they go up.
Guest Daniel Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 It's got to be the little hardman. Tia Tia Tia... You know the rest.

Bedford Fox Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 i think tiatto coz we need someone to drive the team on like keane or viera and that man is Danny Tiatto!
