So what if they didn't have them, would you want them to win then? Its like if you didn't like a current Leicester player, would you decide you wanted the other team to win? I think not. Point 2 - I loved him while he was here, and I ain't taking anything away from him, I would still love him now if he hadn't have left the way he did, He lied infront of 32,000 fans, ok at that point he may not have knew nothing about the move, even though there were rumours he had already moved to a home near blackburn (or that way on) but then the day before he moved without even being questioned on live tv, he said "Things at Leicester are great, the family are happy[which mrs dickov was there to nod and agree to] and I'll definetly be here next season to help Leicester get promotion"...If he hadn't of said this, yes I would have been disappointed he'd left but I would still love him, I'd still want him to do well! He said what he said and I hate him! -Funny how no-ones talking too much about Savage.

I will say that we wouldn't have been in there without Muzzy, he was immense. I'm sure someone else could have bagged the peno's and like I said, he scored 13 goals in a good team. Doesn't make him an all time great in my eyes. Remember how bad Trev is at football? How many goals did he bag that season from how many games?
Scow Posted 3 February 2005 Posted 3 February 2005 It's the way Dickov went about his transfer which annoyed me. I don't really care now. We've moved on. We have a new manager with a new set of players looking to progress. Dickov is history... I am thankful for his efforts in our promotion season, but Muzzy was the most crucial player for us. When he was out injured, we looked a very average side and struggled to score goals.

As Mad said, we stood by him during the whole La Manga incident, he then proceeded to tell us all that he was staying, said it in an interview that all he was interested in now was 'Getting Leicester promoted' 48 hours before he left, which he knew very well he was going to do. Bigger and better things, my hairy arse.
Ric Flair Posted 3 February 2005 Posted 3 February 2005 It's a shame because Dickov was the only bright spot of a truely horrible period for Leicester under Micky Adams. I'm sorry but if we didn't have Dickov we definately wouldn't have got promoted and we certainly wouldn't have come even slightly close to staying up last season. Muzzy has always been influential and his assists were crucial but Dickov epitimised the way we played and when we were grounding out results in the promotion season it was often down to him for his constant chasing the ball and scoring when it mattered. When a player upsets the fans it can often cloud their memories of how important that player was for us. Dickov plays football like no-one else i've seen before and that helped us remarkably when we had to galvanise as a team in the administration period. Without him god knows what state we would be in, I can't criticise Dickov for the way he did things at Leicester he was a hero on the terraces at Leicester and if you disagree with that then your a liar. End of story.

Deane was injured alot that season. Benjamin was Benjamin and Wright was 17. Without Dickov there were no out and out goalscorers for us and Muzzy could do all he liked out there but I doubt his sublime set pieces and raking passes would have won us the necessary games to get promoted. Dickov was at the business end of the pitch and strikers often get the plaudits for their goals but to be honest in this case it's entirely deserved. Dickov was excellent for us that season and in my eyes was the major contributor in to our promotion.
