Deathside Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 Turbonegro followed by Coheed & Cambria @ Reading Festival. An hour of my life I can never get back. Currently: How is that Hellachopters? - Not really got round to listening to them yet - But if I'm not mistaken Dregan from Backyard Babies used to be in them? He did indeed, Mr. Deathside. Their best stuff's pretty awesome, really good rock'n'roll. Some of their weaker stuff is very, very average. Give this a listen. It's the title track off the above album. I can safely say without too much exageration that it's one of my favourite songs. Just about ever, tbh. I have to congratulate Mr Finnegan for his fine recommendation I've been playing this track (The Hellacopters - By The Grace Of God) constantly for the last 2 weeks and I find myself singing / humming it all the time Right now I'm listening to the whole album but on first listening the only other track that jumps out is It's Good but It Just Ain't Right
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 By the Grace of God is one of the best songs on there, Down On Freestreet is my other favourite. Those two are absolutely stunning. Like I said before, though, some of their weaker stuff is quite average. I like Carry Me Home, I think that's what it's called, too. Rather criminally I gave the CD to a mate of mine a couple of years back when I was going through my big Datsuns / Hellacopters / D4 stage - and I never got it back. None of them quite have the power of Guitar Wolf, though. I'd recommend Guitar Wolf's 'Jet Generation' to anyone who loves rock'n'roll to BLISTERING degrees!
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 To back up that recommendation, Guitar Wolf - Jet Generation!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 We Are Scientists - This Means War The Hellacopters did a really good cover version of A House Is Not A Motel by Love.

I was never big on Datsuns - although I did go see them at Brum Academy2 The D4 on the other hand were an absolute treat live - Saw 'em quite a few times - Including at the Charlotte & Sumo in Leicester - Real shame they split There's a bunch of pics from some of those shows on Mrs Deathside's website PowerChordz.Com
The People's Hero Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 I've just tried to post a picture from that site and I need Nancy's permission! Doh! It's some chap from Turbonegro though, playing an SG400 or something similar and wearing a funky 'crushed velvet?' suit... bowtie and tophat! I've never heard their music but I've decided I like that chap. Here's a link - fill me in Mark! Picture

Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 We Are Scientists - This Scene Is Dead It saddens me that there are people in the world that either don't like or haven't heard We Are Scientists.
