Simi Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Another top draw cross from Beckham, fair play he's been very good tonight. No doubt he'll be all over the front and back pages tomorrow though.
Wezleylowski Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Tevez i take back everything i said about Becks. He is world class and that ball he played to Crouch was magnificant, as was his ball to Owen.
Daggers Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Beckham's cross to crouch was poor, short and he struck lucky with the bounce.
Tommeh Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Thank you Becks for keeping our euro chances alive very good win. Jury will still be out on Lampard, great to see Owen score again and as I speak here comes stuart Downing so I'm turning over to the Appentice.

The Jury's decided on Lampard... of all the players ahead of the back five, he's the only sub-6 on the player rater. In fact, in the last couple of minutes, he's dipped perilously closed to 5 dead. Meanwhile, Beckham and Gerrard are over 7 again, as against Brazil, and Joe Cole has recently joined them. Three of our four midfielders rated as 7s, and the other rated at barely 5...

I think Cole was having a very poor game up til he scored and didn't do too much after, but as is tradition with these rating systems, players who score are marked well Just like our OS how many times has the person who's scored won motm?
Brainy Posted 6 June 2007 Author Posted 6 June 2007 Well if Lampard has played well, he'll get a rating of 6. If a player whos played well of late played well tonight, he'd get 8.
Master Fox Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Stopped watching that tripe about half an hour ago, I know it was 3-0 but so boring!!! Even watching England win bores the hell out of me.
Daggers Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 It was worth watching the second half to laugh at Robinson...he is hysterical.
JoeyB Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Good result, would of battered them with a half decent manager tho'
dandannieldanok Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Good result, would of battered them with a half decent manager tho' I doubt that very much.
lildave3 Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 As long as we win, fine by me. I don't care about how many we win by or how well we play, as long asw in it's all good.
Tevez Posted 6 June 2007 Posted 6 June 2007 Good result, would of battered them with a half decent manager tho' how do you work that out dick? he is not going to come on the pitch and bag one with his nut! i would of played the same team. But still i hate Mclaren.
Mack Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Beckham showed tonight exactly why he is so vital to any team he plays for. I would go as far as to say that had he not been on the pitch we would have been clinging to a 1-0 and Estonia would maybe even hacve scored late on, that has been a trademark of McClaren's era so far. Maybe Beckham needed a reality check, and being dropped by Real and England did the trick?

Maybe Beckham needed a reality check, and being dropped by Real and England did the trick? I don't think so at all, as I said at the time he was dropped he offered the only cutting edge we had in the world cup and he had a big part to play in all the goals we scored -the Sweden game. Again I think he was wrongly dropped by Madrid, he was basically dropped for signing a pre contract with LA Galaxy. Cappelo however, half decent manager that he is, didn't take to long to recognise the fact that he made a big mistake. However it's taken McLaren nearly a year to involve Beckham again, and it's just as much the fans fault as his IMO seeing as everyone has spent the past season raving about Aaron wonkey cross Lennon. Yes DB can't beat a man like Lennon but when you can whip a ball first time into a stikers path from 45 yards deep you don't need to.
mancunianfox Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Yes DB can't beat a man like Lennon but when you can whip a ball first time into a stikers path from 45 yards deep you don't need to. Great point that. No point in being able to take the ball past someone if you can't do anything with it and this is a problem for both Lennon and SWP. Beckham hit two perfect balls to the far post last night and no other England player is capable of doing that...not even the media darling Gerrard.
Simi Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Lampard is playing shit! Get him out! Well I'd guess people would then want Hargreaves in ? SM will not play a holding midfielder against teams like Israel in matches we need to win. Expect Lampard to still be in the team for the near future.
