Estonia v England

I think we'll struggle to an uninspired 2-0 win that will leave the morning papers full of more negative McClaren talk, but sadly wont quite be enough to actually get rid of the idiot.

Crouch and Beckham the scorers for me.

No, just don't like the Beckham bandwagon.

With his first touch against Brazil, everyone cheered as if he'd scored. What is it about him??

He's not even that good. He can put a good ball in, and that is it.

I've tried to be upbeat about England in the last couple of years but find it increasingly difficult. Looking forward to the game as usual but if McClaren can't see where the goals are going to come from then neither can I.

Be patient?!?!?! What sort of battle-cry is that - get up and at 'em England.

0-0 frustrating, uninspiring, unimaginative bore draw.

I'm surprised that all the people who were saying on Friday/Saturday that they weren't bothered about England are so concerned with who's in the team and how crap the manager is.

Im absolutely shocked that some people think we will fail to win the game.

I've been watching England since the 1970 World Cup in Mexico - that's 37 years of expectation yet winning f**k all and, between 1970 and 1994, failure to qualify for quite a few tournaments!

In those 37 years the managers and players have been built-up to be something that they ought to have been but never actually managed to become.

Performances and results (5-1 v Germany excepted, nearly 6 years ago!) have been pretty dire and I don't see any reason to expect anything other than the same dross that we, as supporters, have had to deal with for too many years now.

I haven't got any answers but then I'm not paid to come up with any - that's McClaren's unenviable task.

We struggled in the first half against Andorra (ranked 161 in the world) and although we won 3-0, 45 minutes without a goal against a team ranked lower than the Maldives and Vanuatu (where?) is very poor. Estonia is ranked 110.

I hope we win and qualify for the Finals but I'll stick by 0-0.

For me Beckham is an essential part of the team, and will be until he retires from football.

I can remember England tournament qualification tortures going right back to Spain 82, and during every single campaign we have played awful football at some point or another, and often for most of the campaign. So it's simple. you can play absolute cack all game, get a free kick or corner and BINGO.. one goal.. and on the plane home with three points.

Beckham has done it al la Greece at old trafford. Many times Lineker produced the ungliest of box goal finishes to earn us a 1-0 win in a frozen Warsaw...

Beckham cant leave the full back in his wake anymore and fly a cross in, but he can do a job on the right, and if the other players are clever and play for plenty of free kicks around the box then Beckham should score one... game over.

It's a sad reality of this team, it's just not as good as the hype, and any advantage we can get we need to embrace with open arms.

Most of the Beckham haters dislike the bloke for non football reasons. On the field he is one of the only players left who wears an England shirt with pride, and would do pretty much anything to get a game for England.

I didn't.

I looked at the cheering idiots around me and laughed at them. Laughed at them loudly.

Religion is no longer the opiate of the masses - it is the church of David ****nut Beckham. Come one, come all, down down and worship his metatarsal.

And don't get me started about his dumbfuk tattoos.

Can I just ask what was Gerrard doing just before we scored. He had his back to goal and seemed to be walking away before Crouch had headed it on ?

2-0

Peter Crouch.

Fantastic ball from Beckham and even better finish from Crouch. :appl:

Can we please go and spank these now.

The Stadium is nice as well. The pitch looks good, but is probably poor. Bobbling quite a lot.
