Paris let out early!

Having seen her "video" online I must express surprise that she is being released so soon as she seemed to have difficulty cuming early

my point being, that at least she did serve some time inside , he didn't get a jail term at all for what to me seems far worse :dunno:

Different jurisdictions though. Our government is trying it's damndest not to send people to prison as they're already overcrowded. Doesn't make it right, by the way, but it's difficult to compare the punitive systems of two different countries, especially when one of those countries is a federal state with variation in punishments within it's own borders.

I hope I don't have to do penology as a module!!

My intention is not to compare or criticise the two judicial systems or the penalties .

Put simply my point is that i cannot understand the degree of venon directed towards PH ( who after all is just a spoilt poor little rich girl who was very stupid ) and the seemingly far less directed at the culprit reponsible for cynically allowing an unknown number of dangerous drivers free to use our roads and putting a great amount of us in danger.

I think "seemingly" says it all.

i know its not a scientific study , just my opinion ,

just compare the venom in this thread about PH ( who cannot pose any danger to us in britain);to the amount in the thread regarding the driving test scammer in the other thread ( who can cause massive loss of life or injury here) :dunno:

I would personally treat both with equal disdain, but that's just me.

Exactly, that is my point. Because of "who" she is , her crime seems to be viewed as equal or even worse, but i believe it is not.

Realistically the test scammers misdemeanours are far greater ; the only reason that PH is being given such a rough ride is because of her persona of poor little spoilt rich celeb.

What you are implying to me ( or maybe what i am inferring) is that somehow this adds weight to her crimes .

because in no way should be treated with equal distain , her crime was far less severe

It would be as if to view and punish a speeding motorist (eg a celeb) with the same severity as a drunken motorist ( eg an ordinary joe bloggs)

Hypothetically ; if i were a judge , and these two people appeared before me on the same day, and that i was told there was only one cell left to jail someone , i know which of the two would be more deserving to be sent down .

My problem (as you can't seem to work it out) is that she seems to think that she is above the law full stop, and that she thought that her status would get her off. It didn't. She's been treated the same as anyone else. It's the audacity that I believe has caused more reaction, not what she did in the first place.

As I have said before, the two cases are incomparable, so why try?

I demand to know why Mandaric hasn't sorted it - it's a disgrace.

We are almost at the end of summer and yet Milan has failed to associate Leicester with any decent court case. While Wolves are being linked with the ongoing war-crimes trial in Irag and Coventry continue to be associated with the efforts to release BBC man Alan Johnston we have seen little or no effort to get involved with current affairs.

I think I am going to have to cancel my magazine subscription.

Is this really what we pay our poll tax for? :dunno:

She needs to get down the gym.

She needs to get down the gym.

She needs to work on keeping her legs closed for once.

Maybe she's genetically mutated?... she could have some bizarre magnetic field in her ankles with like poles facing each other... perhaps the poor girl simply cannot get her ankles together. :dunno:

On the other hand, perhaps it's simply force of habit?! :yesyes::P

She's a fantastic role model. No wonder society is going to pot.

i wish all we had to worry about was a silly young girl's influence on society ; but point taken ;)

Don't get me started on things to and not to worry about. I would say I'm having a run of bad luck, but as you make your own luck, I've only got myself to blame.

She didn't even do that much wrong, and she's a highly popular figure amongst the public, hence she does not deserve jail for such a petty crime.

How the hell did I miss this peach of a comment? :ermm:

Driving over the legal limit of alcohol blood levels with a suspended license... a petty crime?

Why bother with driver licensing at all, if driving without one is so petty? And why bother to drive sober when it's quite clearly OK to drive while totally off your face?

I sure hope for your sake you were being massively sarcastic, and you're not just as thick as pigshit. :dunno:

----

Anyway, the real reason I'm here.... Paris Hilton's co-star in Simple Life (although judging by the antics of these clowns it ought to be Simple People) Nicole Richie has also been sentenced to a stretch inside for similar offences. Just the four days for Nicole, although if she breaks the conditions of her 3-year probation, she could be jailed for a year.

It's frightening to think that some people actually look up to tarts such as this particular pair of clowns. :ermm:

I'm sorry, my comments in this thread were just there to provoke a reaction, I was bored :P.

She should have served a full and proper sentence

They are a couple of smelly pirate hookers.

I hate you 'Shunwideeps.

I was already planning on watching the original Star Wars trilogy tonight, now you've added another film to that.

You're making me look stupid.

Get out of here, Panda Jerk.
