Babylon Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 Hey, who you calling mental? I said 2 mil! I know... hence why I put 4m. It was aimed at the 4m people.
lookwhaticando Posted 8 June 2007 Posted 8 June 2007 I know... hence why I put 4m. It was aimed at the 4m people. If people want to believe we're gonna spend 4 million, let them believe it. Don't be the one to crush their dreams...
city1993 Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Well considering we have now bought 4 players, I reckon that we will only spend about £1.7 million !!
AoWW Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Can't be arsed with all this decimal malarkey... I'll go for a nice round number - £3 million.
sdb Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 no, you appear to be a condom yes i am a condom, it's a joke from a while back that has obviously gone over your head! (eh?!)
act smiley Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 I'll go with the wonderous total of £750,000. Because Charlton weren't nice enough to round it up to a sensible number, and I reckon that'll be the only money that'll be spent on fees. Saying that, I dunno what the numbers are for Nielsen.

DB11 Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 £2.3 million Was it you that made the statement saying something like "If we spend over 3.5 million..." I quoted that person in my sig, so look at my sig to see
shrood Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 1.5 - 2 million (not including cash received for our players). People saying anything above 3 million or so must be having a laugh.
Thracian Posted 11 June 2007 Posted 11 June 2007 I don't think MM will fork out much at all in transfer fees. He might make the odd exception but I don't believe he'll intend to fund Leicester City from any existing capital of his own. The intention will be for the recently faltering business that is Leicester City to pay its own passage..and the money from McCarthy will go a little way to help. The better deal from Walkers for the ground and other advertising deals will help some more as will increased ticket sales etc. Yes our wages and bonuses will be competitive. MM's millions will be generating considerable interest and while it might be possible that some of that could be loaned to Leicester City if necessary I don't believe there's any way MM ever intends to irretrievably erode any of his personal pile. He's a businessman first and a damned good one. He will make sure every available penny in the business works but he'll not take from his own pocket if he can possibly avoid it. If the signs are good for getting promotion come January that might persuade him to take a chance with a couple of signings but MM, like so many Eastern Europeans, clearly knows the value of money and he won't easily be inclined to throw it away even then. Indeed his acquisition of Leicester City was shrewdness personified. In effect he is acting as club doctor. His intention is clearly to take a rather sickly business and return it to robust good health. His reward for doing that will be more than worth the effort. And, even if he fails in his 3-year target I am quite sure the club will have added value by the end of that time.
