Lord Nibblington Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 YEh, if everyoen from the under 21's that went this time could make it next time, I duno if we would need anyone else though?Though the over 21's could do with 1 or 2 more next time, Matt could turn up earlier next time though, although that was the best 20 second cameo appearance I have ever witnessed It was a cracking cameo. Though, I did only actually notice he'd come onto the pitch right as the full time whistle went.
Joe. Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 So all this about the Over 21's only having a 12 man squad was rubbish really when there was clearly 13 players
Lord Nibblington Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 So all this about the Over 21's only having a 12 man squad was rubbish really when there was clearly 13 players For 20 seconds of the game. Maybe. However, by the time Knighton came on, the Singh was crippled, anyway!
Knighton Matt Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 For 20 seconds of the game. Maybe. However, by the time Knighton came on, the Singh was crippled, anyway! I was crippled too! I had to run half the length of the pitch to get back into our half!! Fitness wasn't what it was!! In all honesty I don't think anyone came off for me so we technically had 12 people on the pitch in the end I'll turn up earlier next time and try and give more of an impact performance!!

Thracian Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 I'm still disappointed at the lack of Thracians player ratings In a coaching role, I'm very much of the "win together/lose together" mould. And that was easy yesterday because I really do think everyone contributed. In fact I was pleasantly surprised at some of the football and the fact that the team competed well in all parts of the field. Putting together 5/6-pass moves on a pitch like that said a lot as did the defenders' containing of the over 21's fast and fit-looking front runners. And while it was easy to note Jamie's two-goal contribution and the huge number of chances Bertfox carved out, there was lots of constructive and notable play in other parts of the field including from yourself. I'd need to know everyone a bit better to offer reliable player ratings but collectively I thought we won a decent game and did so in the right way. It was a great occasion of which I was proud to be part and it made me realise how much I've missed being involved in coaching these recent years.

As a shock tactic it definitely worked. In terms of impact...let's be honest if I'd run on naked we'd be talking about an impact performance. A big impact at that. Oi Oi!!

Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Player ratings; Alex [ikokopops] 10 - Post-exam boozeup on Friday night and still managed to last the whole night last night including finishing off Benji's pitcher in the Dog while also getting his hat and scarf back off Jess somehow. Lord Nibblington 7 - Came along to Walkabout with his missus and made it all the way to the casino. Top effort. The Singh 8 - Getting the party moving when we were sat outside The Hind. Drink up, you bastards! Hullfox 1 - Buggered off before the pub, but apparently went out last night in Hull for which he gets one token mark. Sly 1 - Nowhere to be seen. One token mark for taking Manwell's stuff back to Coalville. Scoweh 8 - A very solid effort indeed, great stamina to last all three pubs but didn't make it to the casino. Manwell 9 - Would have been a perfect 10 but for buggering off at 4am and missing today's... err... festivities (i.e. me, TPH and Alex lying around for two hours wondering where he'd gone and who was going to get our breakfast) TPH 9 - Would have been a perfect 10 but for the whole Kavana business. Rolled in at half 3 from the casino. Durnerz 2 - Nowhere to be seen. Shocking commitment. Although he may have been in the Dog before we got there to be fair. Fez 8 - Fairly solid effort but was merely a spectator in the casino. Did get the shots in at Walkabout but was with TPH's money so it's swings and roundabouts. Finnegan 8 - Okay so he had to dash off back to Donington but a massive effort yesterday to come along and run all game then go back to Download. A very commendable day's work. Tomassi 4 - I think he was in the Dog? I can't remember. Subs; Knighton Matt 5 - Some excellent banter as always but an early finisher.

Leicester's 12th Man Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 I would love this to be done over this summer. Would have come along yesterday but I was at a grass roots coaching day in Cov, plus atm I have a broken finger. Still if the under 21's need a goalkeeper and it is done again say in about 8-10 weeks I should be available, if not I'll deffo play next year as it seemed like a wicked day

Yes I was, only stopped for a quick one but will be redoubling my efforts at the next kickabout
Hullfox Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Hullfox 1 - Buggered off before the pub, but apparently went out last night in Hull for which he gets one token mark. A fine analysis.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 I think this should definitely be done again this summer. If we can find out what Manwell had to do to organise it all then it could be possible In a nut shell, pick a date that suits everyone, get enough players for a game, book the pitch. Make sure you have a football, buy two bottles of cheap Carva. Make sure everyone involved is clear on the times and rules oh and put up with about 7 PMs a day.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Yeah that was it, bobble...... Good lad. good day out and a good night tonight, and night as well. Although now the alchoal is wearing off I'm in serious pain, as a few of you may of saw a cluted at my left calf after jumping out the way of a slide tackle, it felt alright to play on and alright for most of tonight as well but it has now seriously seized up. Just had to leave the hotel room in which TPH Fez and kokopops all reside snorring. It sounds like feeding time at the Warthog incolsure at Dudley Zoo. I'm not sorting all this out again for another year but if any of you lot want to feel free. That was a hot topic for this morning's discussion, especially since you left a present of 4 cigarettes on the side and some Marks and Spencers socks. They are some fine socks. Yeh, bless them, although we didn't really want to go in it Yesterday was awesome, great meeting the people I didn't already know and tbh I thought I was an amazing physio... Alexs scarf and his mates mums hat looked way better on me then him. I'm quite surprised I actually managed to get them back off you. Oh yeh, who did I chuck the beer over? Lmao really? Who soaked me? Guilty on both parts over here. For those of you who're unsure who TPH was here's a picture:
Alexikokopops Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Oh, I'm sorry to the mother of the child I made cry after accidentally spraying the wee nipper with champagne. Felt a bit guilty after that one.
Joe. Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 I'll vounteer to arrange it if you want, Manwell. That would be great Scoweh
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 hahaha. Good find. I can see the simarlarity These two women in their late 30s came up to him in Walkabout and told him he looked like 90s pop sensation Kavana. Unfortunately they didn't say the words "90s pop sensation" so TPH thought they either meant Graham Kavanagh of Sunderland midfield fame or Kavanagh QC.

He seems to have a habit of being approached by strange women in Walkabout/Bar Risa as was, does our TPH. I blame the shirts.
Bert Posted 10 June 2007 Posted 10 June 2007 Firstly a big thanks to Manwell for sorting this event out and Thracian for stumping up the money for us "kids". I must also apologise to my team-mates for being shite. I can play a lot better than that and in the next game will do so. It was great to play in this game and all the banter was brilliant. All the over 21's goals were class. Credit to our team must go to everyone, but a special mention for, Tevez, JME, Maybes and Ched.
