Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Author Posted 12 June 2007 So do you think everyone outside the top 50 is shit then? Did I say that. he's dipped from 7 to below 50 in a very short space in time that does take some doing. And as it happens in world class grand slam proffesional terms as it happens yes, I do think those outside the top 50 probabley aren't that great. He's dropped from 7 to below 50 very quickly, he's won one game all year, he's losing to teenage wild cards who've never won a grand slam match, in todays case the lad hadn't even won on grass before. He's 32, I think this points to a slight decline!? If he carrys on not beating the kind of players he's not he'll be outside the 100 before long. It just looks to me like he's times up. I don't want to see someone who once was actually a very good player be remembred as the old claped out has been he is currently.
Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 ....ain't seen nothing yet *bing* *bing* B-b-b-baby you just ain't seen nothing yet *bing* *bing* H-Here's something, here's something that you're never going to forget baby Baby you just ain't seen nothing yet *bing* *bing*
Tommeh Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Had a decent career but has often had other competitors much better than him at the top of their game to contend with e.g. Agassi, Sampras, Hewitt, Roddick now Nadal and Federer He's been going downhill for the last 2 seasons now and I also think the emergance of Murray has taken the headlines off him. He'll give it one last go at Wimbledon but after that I'd expect him to retire

Agree with that part, but his opponent today is widely expected to be a future winner at Wimbledon and is set for a big future.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 If Marin Cilic ever wins Wimbledon dave I will buy you a beer. If we both buy his beers on the same day he'll be able to get pissed for free!

Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Author Posted 12 June 2007 I'm only going on what the commentators were saying. But i'll be rooting for him now According to those planks anyone who beat Tim Henman is a future Wimbledon Champion.
lildave3 Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 According to those planks anyone who beat Tim Henman is a future Wimbledon Champion. To be fair they did say it at the start
Simi Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 It is time for Tim to step aside now. Too many niggling injuries at vital times of the year. It will just be another anti climax for him at Wimbledon this year. Federer is likely to brush aside the competition again, without any real effort. On grass he is nothing short of majestic.

Will Murray be fit for Wimbledon?
Simi Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Will Murray be fit for Wimbledon? No idea, I get annoyed watching him at Wimbledon, every time he starts losing he gets injured, then everyone says " Oh he is so brave "
lildave3 Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 No idea, I get annoyed watching him at Wimbledon, every time he starts losing he gets injured, then everyone says " Oh he is so brave " I've never seen him play at Wimbledon, i'm always on holiday
Flynny Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 And losing his matches.Frankly, saying if he hadn't lost his seedings, he'd be in the top 20 is somewhat oxymoronic. If he was still in the top 20, he still have seedings. No, he was seeded for tournuments and doing well (well, not AS bad) until an extended lay-off, upon which returning from he was outside the seeded places. Since then he's had one stroke of bad luck after the other, though I won't deny he's had some poor games. Drawing Federer in the 2nd round of Wimbledon last year is one of the things I mean. Shit draws, more injury, and the odd inoppurtune loss. He's not as bad as his ranking suggests.

Care to enlighten me about this extended lay off as Im in the dark, I thought it was the fact that he didn't make it past the third round of any Grand Slams in 2005 that was the major reason for his dip in the rankings, leading to him not being seeded at Wimbledon last year.
Ultra Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Will Murray be fit for Wimbledon? Apparently so. He may be playing in a warm-up tournament at Nottingham next week.

Milky Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 It's a shame Murray hates England. Takes a bit of the shine off it all.
Dames Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 It's a shame Murray hates England. Takes a bit of the shine off it all. Makes me laugh. Henman was the English number 1. Then someone better from Scotland comes along, they change it so its the British number 1. Well in the media anyway

Well in the media anyway I don't think I've ever herd the term English number 1 used to describe Tim Henman. We're represented as Britain in the Davis cup and our players all play under the Union Jack .
Flexx Posted 13 June 2007 Posted 13 June 2007 Yeah..sounds like a dannyboy comment. sarcasm!! do you not get the word?
