Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Thanks for the memories but you mate are cleary past anything resembling your best!! Tim Henman squandered a final-set advantage to lose 7-6 2-6 6-4 to Marin Cilic in the first round of the Artois Championships at Queen's Club.Henman, who has been fighting a stomach bug, was 4-2 up in the final set but ran out of steam against the Croatian. He had also been 4-1 up in the first but the 32-year-old Englishman, who has won only one match all year, could not press home his advantage. It was the first career win for the 18-year-old Cilic on grass. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/6745857.stm I think he should have one more blast at wimbledon, lose in the first round, and retire.

Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Tennis into Room 101 because: Wimbledon - Women's Institute - Yuppies - Stuffy - Strawberries for a fiver - Sue Barker's knickers - Cliff Richard - Champagne - Young Tories - Elitist Sport - Henmania - The Hill - Dull, dull and fooking tediously dull

I prefer the idea of Sue Barker without knickers too.
Barry Trotter Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 He had a stomach bug, plus he is still playing at a high level.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Author Posted 12 June 2007 He had a stomach bug, plus he is still playing at a high level. Erm, I could play at that level and lose every game it's nothing to be proud of. Tim Henman has got to realise it's time to retire Bloke on 606 agress with me anyway.
Blue Bob Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 He has had a good crack at it, he even managed to get a hill named after himself - which is more than most. Time to start your media career Tim.

Stevosevic Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 To be fair, hes past it, not that he was ever that good anyway.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 He has had a good crack at it, he even managed to get a hill named after himself - which is more than most. Time to start your media career Tim. Tennis is simply an awful sport, the iconography, the people, the way they all run off like pussies when it rains, annoying little kids in ponsey green outfits, a load of dykes going 'oooh', amercian tossers presenting on the BBC. I call it bollucks
lildave3 Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 He's won one game all season. I'm not defending him because I think he's useless aswell tbh, but the main reason he lost this time around is becuase he was ill.
Flynny Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 He's been extremely unlucky for the last 12 months. If he'd never lost his seedings he'd still be in the top 20.
Barry Trotter Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Even I could beat Tim FFS, just retire!! ok lets not go over the top here.

Brainy Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Even I could beat Tim FFS, just retire!! Yeah.. sounds like a dannyboy comment.
Lord Nibblington Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 He's been extremely unlucky for the last 12 months. If he'd never lost his seedings he'd still be in the top 20. And why did he lose his seedings.... ?
Lord Nibblington Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Injury. And losing his matches. Frankly, saying if he hadn't lost his seedings, he'd be in the top 20 is somewhat oxymoronic. If he was still in the top 20, he still have seedings.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 June 2007 Author Posted 12 June 2007 He's been extremely unlucky for the last 12 months. If he'd never lost his seedings he'd still be in the top 20. Erm he didn't lose his seedings because he he told pat cash he didn't like his hair. He doesn't get seeded as he's ranked outside the top 50, he's ranked outside the top 50 because he's shit. It's not as if he's losing to decent players either he's losing to utter jokers and today was no different. EDIT: I'm aware there are 32 seeds before any bright spark start trying to correct me, I was just pointing out that he's that far down the rankings.

James. Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 Henman's greatest problem was his mentality. He just wasn't and never will be a true winner. At the crucial times (for example against Ivanesevic in the semi-final a few years ago) he choked. Even with the embarrassingly partisan and cringeworthy support on Centre Court and that monstrosity Henman Hill he still didn't have the qualities that make a champion. And now any talent he did have is fading faster because of his mentality and the complete lack of confidence he now has in his own ability. Just retire Henman.
Milky Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 To be fair, hes past it, not that he was ever that good anyway. Reached number 4 in the world. In top 10 for a decade.
Daggers Posted 12 June 2007 Posted 12 June 2007 So do you think everyone outside the top 50 is shit then? Someone better not tell that to Bachman Turner Overdrive
