potter3 Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I was there too!Quite possibly the worst night out of my life! The band were great but I was as sober as a judge on the eve of the millenium thanks to the MS not being able to pull enough pints If it helps I was not drunk too Although because I was 9 The song is mediocre and hence gash compared to the rest of their stuff, but reckoning she should be shot is harsh. Gran Turismo is a quality album.Oh and for the question, probably A Design for Life or No Surface All Feeling, but I've not heard the new one. Hey I've got that, somewhere...
Phube Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Definately Motorcycle Emptiness! But there are a few on Gold Against the Soul that I really like also!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 6 July 2007 Posted 6 July 2007 Early stuff definitely Archives of Pain : "You damn well think you're God or something, God give life, God taketh it away, not you... I think you are the devil itself"
Nath Posted 8 July 2007 Posted 8 July 2007 "Autumn Song" on the new album is quality! "Your love is not enough" on the new album also is good stuff!
NFFC Chris Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 A Design For Life Australia Kevin Carter If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next Your Love Alone Is Not Enough(though tidiculasly overplayed) Motorcycle Emptiness
Nationwider Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I'm not really a big Manics fans - don't have any albums etc - but I like the following: 1. Motorcycle Emptiness 2. La Tristessa 3. Your Love Alone Is Not Enough 4. You Love Us ...and that's about it.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Motorcycle Emptiness for me too... but.... ...to be contraversial... ..Tsunami ...some consider it one of the worst, but I like it for some reason!!
McFox Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Agree with the "Suicide is Painless" guys - by far my favorite- the original was used as the theme tune to the TV show M-A-S-H and the Manics covered it in the early 90s for some charity thing.
Libertine Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 ..Tsunami...some consider it one of the worst, but I like it for some reason!! Really? It's a great song IMO.
The People's Hero Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 I do enjoy Tsunami, but would stop some way short of describing it as their best. I like MSP in their cutting and contemplative moods... but it's the anthemic tracks which really do it for me.
Kent Fox Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 I like the Manics. And in respect to Mr TPH, I did not want to throw in my opinion without due care and thought. After much deliberation and listening to MSP albums for days I have decided that my favourite MSP track is... wait for it... wait, I say.. We are all Bourgoise now (From Lipstick Traces). I think it's actually a cover, but I don't care
