The Reverend Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 *Brad Pitt esque voice* The first rule of Foxestalk is you do not talk about Foxestalk. The second rule of Foxestalk is you do not talk about Foxestalk. The third rule is - there are no rules Ok seriously, dont post anything off football rumours! by the way
Head Honcho Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Im new to this so is there anything I need to know about posting things or anything else???? Welcome and well done for joining us prior to us having our best season for years
Kent Fox Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Rule 1. Do not post any boll***s. Rule 2. Do not post any transfer rumours that are unfounded. Rule 3. Do not start a thread that is really stoopid. Best to watch others make that mistake and see what reaction they get. But big pat on the back for asking!! Shows common sense. Enjoy the Forum
Tommeh Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Im new to this so is there anything I need to know about posting things or anything else???? Look at examples from the members on Tph's idiot list and also dannyboy11 of how NOT to post
Daggers Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I'd say welcome but I read your other thread first so...now...I'm just.....putting you on...block. *ping*
lookwhaticando Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Welcome Just take a look at these guidelines A good place to start at FoxesTalk would be not to take URL posting lessons from Walkers. Hint: Don't be tempted by the "Insert: Post Link" button on the left of your New Post/Add Reply screen. ------------- The guidelines can be found in the link at the top left of the forum - it's worth reading if you don't fancy being moderated all the time. Some particular forums have their own set of guidelines which you should also take note of (in Transfer Talk especially). Other than that, not being a total spanner is highly advisable. Welcome!
AoWW Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Hello and Firstly, well done for actually bothering to ask for some posting advice. Generally, you'll find that the locals are fairly friendly - with a few notable exceptions *cough - not mentioning any names in particular - you'll learn, given time*! As a relative 'newbie' I found that it was worth keeping a fairly low profile for a while (I did, honest! ) ... check out other posts... get to know some of the 'characters'... see what goes into which threads (or more to the point, which ones the evil mods move and/or close! ) and try to figure out why some threads get the reaction/response that they do. Take it steady when starting new threads... probably better to post in an existing one, (if it's relevant... although, to be fair, some do go off on something of a tangent!) rather than start a new one, unless you've something particularly stunning to say/ask. Small tip... saying you've seen 'someone in a supermarket' probably wasn't your smartest move ... but, no worries, put it behind you... people will forgive and forget (even Daggers!) Good luck...!
AoWW Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I tried being nice... I tried being constructive.... I failed (big time!) Sorry!
lookwhaticando Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I tried being nice... I tried being constructive.... I failed (big time!) Sorry! You just never learn.

AoWW Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Good advice. Wish I had seen this and it would have saved me a few fook ups when I started. Yep, occasionally I'll utter an absolute gem *cough*... it's the separating it from all the other shite I spout that's the tricky bit! Thanks, anyhow.
Raj Posted 4 July 2007 Posted 4 July 2007 Inevitably you WILL upset someone at SOME point or worse, you will upset ALOt of people ALOT of the time! Post your OWN views and not just to try and make friends!! Oh and you WILL get critised for SOMETHING you post. When that happens try not to take it personally and get over it! (P.S NONE of this is from personal experience!)
Bluefoxtim Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 From the promising start of 'LCFC2007' it really has gone down hill...
The People's Hero Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Just come under my wing. You'll be fine. 1) Don't post rumours off of THAT site. 2) Do not make duplicate threads. 3) Avoid txtspk. 4) If you don't like a thread - take it off topic. 5) Don't use a stupid points system to judge our manager. Just don't. 6) Basically, just agree with what I say.
Brainy Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 From the promising start of 'LCFC2007' it really has gone down hill... Yes, now he's really pissing me off.
Simi Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 Yes, now he's really pissing me off. Constant duplicate threads in Transfer Talk is getting very annoying. It's not asking much to look around first.
Micky Ruddle Posted 5 July 2007 Posted 5 July 2007 I tried telling him, but....oh well he will learn at some point....hopefully
