Fox in a Box Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Surely in this day and age of Carbon footprinting you'd think that the way forward for and new stadia would be to include where possible renewable energies and reduction in lighting/ electricity where possible. Has LCFC got a Green policy, if not why should'nt we be the first.... I can think of 2 ways of creating 'lecky' one being a water mill from the rive adjoining the stadia and the other being a turbine!! Global warming is linked to the amount of carbon and other greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere. As individuals, almost everything we do leads to the release of carbon into the atmosphere whether that's boiling a kettle, turning your heating up in the winter or taking a Caribbean holiday. The amount of carbon you personally produce in a year can be determined using our carbon calculator. This measure of consumed natural resources is known as your carbon footprint. Your carbon footprint gives an indication of your impact on the environment, which is caused by the burning of fossil fuels such as oil and gas. It is measured in tonnes of carbon dioxide emitted per year. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and as such increases global warming. If everyone made small changes to their life style - like not leaving the television on standby - then this would make a big difference in reducing our global carbon footprint.

Flynny Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 People increasingly don't give a shit. I'm one of them. I'm all for stuff thats relatively simple, like those funny lightbulbs that take about half an hour to get up to proper brightness, but there's really little point.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Any chance we could switch you off? I leave my TV on standby 24/7 but I'm more concerned about the energy I waste clicking on your threads.

Bluefoxtim Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 why should we care ? Can't really see what this has to do with Leicester anyway
Nationwider Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 why should we care ? I'm sorry, you can't do that. If Flynny says it, then at least his anthipathy has some reasoning behind it. Using a contrary opinion in a single, futile sentence just for a cheap laugh just underlines the long-held belief around these parts that you're a complete tw@t. Try again, only this time rub the two brain cells you have together and try and generate the faintest, warming glow of sentient activity. Thanks.
Nationwider Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 And for the record, I think this topic would be best taken up with either the club itself, George W. Bush, or China.

Why do the far-right parties all over the world act as cultivars for such stupidity. FIAB may have chosen the wrong sub-forum however the need for local community to pressure big carbon emitters, is a good initiative. Solutions such as limiting traffic congestion en route to games, and renewable power supply hurts nobody with good cash flow.
Fox in a Box Posted 9 July 2007 Author Posted 9 July 2007 HOPE YOUR HOUSE FLOODS AND YOU DONT HAVE INSURANCE.!

Kent Fox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 i just don't see wot its got to do with us. It has everything to do with us, you ignorant little tw@t! Now I don't profess to either know the answers to it, nor is my household doing all we can to go green. But..at the end of the day, this is the only fecking planet we have found (so far) that we can all live on. Therefore, if we can't live here - we die! It's not this generation that may suffer, nor possibly the next, but at some point, a relative of yours (assuming you're allowed to breed or indeed, know how) will suffer. Try learning something and you might not come across to people as the dickwad you seem to be right now.

Nationwider Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 FIAB's post is a little ahead of it's time ideas-wise, but it's worthy of a question to TD or MM at the next fan's forum for those that have an interest in any club policy. Global issues get rammed down our throats - and I prefer to keep politics out of football where possible. A bit like religion, I prefer to do my own thing with the environment stuff, rather than get all preachy. Unfortunately, Leicester City has a shareholder to answer to, where as I've only got my conscience and my spare-time. This topic is an invitation to a riot, so I'll step out now.

Ask the Question see what answer you get, surely they can save themselves money by 'switching off' when unused or recycling bins for the 'plastics' I dont see anything!! A hippy you know!
a-fox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 i never recycle its a load of crap i pay my tax's so they take away my rubbish and see if they can be bothered to sort it all out ! i don't see if were the least out of the big country's contributers to global warming we should worry i don't see America doing much.
Fox4ever Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 My TV doesn't have a power button I have to turn it off at the mains. Perhaps we should all stop buying stuff from China that would negate their necessity to build a coal fired power station every two weeks. That would significantly reduce the global footprint. China's footprint is almost as big as the rest of the world put together.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Security, security, thread de-railed. This had about as much chance of staying on topic as the famed panini thread.
stez Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Security, security, thread de-railed. will be re-aligned onto the general line
