Florence is beautiful - guaranteed you'll fall in love.

Pollution wise bit of a downer, but probably one of the top cities in europe. Going to watch Fiorentina late september brilliant team.

Go to Rome!

Went there last summer.

I don't really fancy Italy again but the missus has had some good reviews and has got it in her head now

I fancy Istanbul or Hong Kong but she ain't up for that because we're taking her mam along with us! She reckons they might be a bit too hectic for her

I'm looking for a hotel with a pool. Can you remember the name of the hotel?

It's either that or I'll try and rent an apartment!

Firenze, It's the cultural capital of Italy and arguably the world........

Great food, wine, scenery, art, architecture, beautiful women, everything a thinking man could want................a bit like Portishead

Florence is ok I guess, it's hard to find anything specific to not like as such but, in all honesty, I found it just a teeny-weeny bit dull. I'm obviously not cultured enough! :dunno:

Don't give up on trying to persuade the missus in favour of Hong Kong though. It's abso-fvcking-lutely amazing ! I fell in love with the city almost instantly and, although I don't really consider myself to be a 'city-person', Hong Kong totally blew me away :D. Yes, parts of it - the markets and the like - are busy (but no more so than your average UK city centre on a Saturday morning, imo) but over recent years they've made huge efforts to provide more peaceful areas . It's incredibly diverse for such a small 'region' - far more so than I anticipated.

Anyhow, I'll stop gushing now... but you need to be working on your persuasive techniques, matey!
