Guest Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 This will be an interesting one when we finally get to see him in action. Chambers looked so solid at RB against Quorn that I wouldn't want to move him. Where did he play against Hinckley?? If he sticks out there then good news for Mattock/Sheehan and maybe Kaebi out on the right flank with Newton as back up??that's my theory anway and to honest i'd rather newton wasnt first team
Wooly Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I've always assumed from the get go Chambers will be first choice right back, Kaebi right wing, with Newton clearly being employed as backup on either flank.
bringbackWalshie Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 i'd agree right wing will prob be where he's guna be utilised. Will have to see whether he is good enough to be first a team player. I'm optimistic he'll be a quality player and look forward to seeing him in action.

Geo V Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 he'll play right wing Yeah I think he`ll end up there but the good thing about his play is that he can tackle and can run back to support Chambers.
Joe. Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 I'm pretty certain he'll end up right wing yes. I really hope so....
Joe. Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Shaun Newton on the left or on the bench??? Bench hopefully....
Simi Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 If Kaebi "lives up to the hype" I'd like to see him play right wing, he's looks to have to much creativity to play at the back and would probably leave us exposed.
Tomassi Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 right wing, he helps out with right back so chambers will love him plus he is pacey as f**k
lildave3 Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Shaun Newton on the left or on the bench??? Bench probably.
Simi Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Shaun Newton on the left or on the bench??? Either way he'll be near the white lines. I'm sorry
Thracian Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 We've got cover for everyone: ======================== Logan/Henderson/Nielsen goalkeeper Mattock/Sheehan/Beswick at left back; Porter/Hayes/Beswick on the left flank Porter/Hume/King as possible "hole" players Clemence/Wesolowski/Kishishev/King/Porter central midfield Ka'ebi/Gradel/Newton on the right wing Chambers/Ka'ebi/Stearman right back N'Gottty/Stearman/McAuley/Kisnorbo centre-back; Hume/Hammond/MDV/Dodds/Cort/McKay/Fryatt/Odhiambo/Chambers ++++ at centre-forward. That's a squad full of attitude which has a military look to it in that if one man falls another as good can take his place. But what to do about centre-forward? We've got limitations, with nothing special in the air and no-one who could be expected to threaten 20 goals this season apart from Hume. I couldn't choose the best from all the options. Hume's proved himself and relentless, Hammond's fastest and strongest, Dodds such a cool and versatile finisher, McKay impish, quick and clinical, Chambers direct, clever and coolly accurate, Odhiambo fastish, tricky and persistent, DeVries nagging and awkward, Cort languid but dangerous and Fryatt the best theoretical thing since Jimmy Greaves. There's plenty of heart too but there's no-one experienced who's got genuine class or is a really natural all-round centre-forward.

He was a special striker.

Ric Flair Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I think our right side next season will be the quickest in the division and teams won't fancy playing against that. With Mattock and Hayes being quick as well, we could be fierce from out wide. I think Kaebi will play right wing, by the way.

Oh and right wing, but having watched the videos of him I would like to see him in a central attacking midfield role, but thats probably why I'm not a manger!!
Bojimha Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 He may play right wing back but only martin (well, hopefully) knows!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Do you earn cash on the side as a David Brent lookalike? Not saying you look like him but look like people who don't look like him who think they do who earn cash on the side as David Brent lookalikes.

David Brent Panz Erm nope I can never say I have considered it but if theres money to be made im all ears. I think Kaebi will prove to be the gem in our team this season and I think he will be versatile enough to play anywhere down the right hand side and fit in where best. I think Chambers has nailed down the right back spot, so possibly he will start on the right of midfield and take it from there.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I swear there's another guy who posts on here who looks exactly like you. Andrew something or other.
